Pretty good first two episodes

The acting, photography, and production have been excellent.

Last night's episode was pretty boring, nothing really happened.

I like the cinematography, and I get how some parts were intentionally quiet and slow. But lots of wasted time with boring shit. Like WGAF about the guy's eczema.

Yeah 2nd was a bit slow but still interesting to me. Also DMC would be pleased tbh since there were two successful prisoner transfers during the episode

The truth it somewhere in between. I highly doubt we needed approx 8 minutes exploring the lawyer's eczema. I could be wrong though.

It's a classic...and not your typical Steve Martin movie(except when he becomes Caine's retarded brother Ruprect, which is hilarious). He, Glenne Headly and Michael Caine have great chemistry in that movie.

Yeah this is quietly one of the better shows. The first two episodes I was wondering aside from J.T who would be a notable cast member. As I hadn't recognized anyone aside from him. Then in Episode three they started to roll out. Based on the pace you just know it's likely going to get a little crazy soon. But I like the intensity, that can't be ignored.

Spoiler Alert:

Oh, and am I the only one that wanted him to run out of the station in episode one? :lol

Indeed I did. He was actually one of my least favorite characters from The Wire actually. But, I didn't know it was him until he was getting questioned at the station.

"My name is my name!" :lol Marlo was OK. I gravitated more towards Lester, Bubbles and Bunk. I can't exactly put into words why I didn't care for Bodie, perhaps it was his mindset.

I don't know if I would've enjoyed Gandolfini comparatively to Turturro. Turturro's quirky style seems more fitting as an offset to the seriousness of the story.

Two episodes left. Now I think the girl's stepfather killed her.

LaMarcus Bryant
08-17-2016, 04:01 PM
Girls stepfather was clearly shady AF from the start.

And very dumb the lawyers wait until trial to investigate ownership of a new York brownstone the victim lived in.

And I can't buy Naz just starting to smoke dope while in trial

But it has picked up should end with a bang

I predict Naz stays in prison or gets killed, and still found innocent of the murder.

benefactor

^pretty solid prediction tbh. I'll go with that.

As far as Naz starting to smoke dope in prison, it's plausible. He let the girl pressure him into doing all kinds of drugs with very little resistance.

They sort of squished everything into the end. For a couple of episodes it drug. One episode left and still a lot of questions to answer. I'm wondering if the final episode will be 90 minutes like the first one.

Enjoyed it but thought it was kind of corny how Naz ended up getting tatted up, shaving his head, smoking crack, and being the right hand of the most powerful guy at Rikers. Seemed more realistic and intriguing when he was just a quiet, Pakistani college student tbh.

Got in the middle of episode 8 the courtroom verdict, which was good. Is that the last ep of the season? Of the series period?

Earlier eps here and there I checked it out and found it sleep inducing.

Finished this over a few days. Thought it was pretty good.
I kept thinking that Freddie was going to get killed which would leave Naz on his own.
and btw...Naz stared at that bj for wayyyy too long.

Pretty solid acting all around. Some of the courtrooms scenes were not very believable. Especially as to the expert witness and Trevor.

Not sure if I would have followed the show if I was waiting on episodes week to week.

But 7/10.

Fans of HBO’s latest drama “The Night Of” might have noticed something odd in the credits — the late James Gandolfini is listed as an executive producer despite the fact that he passed away suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 51 in June 2013.

If you’re wondering why the late star has producing credits on “The Night Of,” it’s because the series, based on a U.K. television program called “Criminal Justice,” was a passion project of Gandolfini’s that he was set to produce and star in before his untimely death.

HBO initially passed on the project, but eventually gave it a limited series order. Gandolfini filmed the pilot in late 2012, then HBO picked it up just a month before Gandolfini died. After his death, HBO and the producers decided to move ahead with the project and credit Gandolfini as an executive producer.

John Turturro eventually replaced the late actor in the role of attorney John Stone, who is defending Pakistani-American college student Nasir Khan (Riz Ahmed), accused of murdering a girl on New York’s Upper West Side.

“Jim had a very clear idea of how he would play Stone. It was very physical. A really, very sort of physical relationship with the character and how he wanted to play it,” says Tranter. “He talked about it very much in terms of the physique.”

“[Gandolfini] very much wanted to do it and I wanted him to do it,” says Zaillian. “But as much as I would have loved to have done it with Jim, this has really become John’s part. They’re both great actors.”

rip.
