Rose was asked about what the expectations should be for the Knicks this season. New York acquired Rose, Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee to join Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.

"They're high. I mean, with these teams right now, they're saying us and Golden State are the super teams, and they're trying not to build that many super teams, and Adam Silver came out with the statement and this and that," said Rose.

:lmao Dumbass thought Silver was talking about him.

To be fair if you include the 2004 Lakers as a superteam then 2016 Knicks are close.

Who was the other "superteam", Cleveland?

Not even close. 2004 Lakers had four Hall of Famers (including one of the most potent duos in the history of the NBA) on a team that was only one year removed from a threepeat.

The Knicks have one HOFer in Melo, another cusp selection in Rose, a talented but raw sophmore, and...fucking Courtney Lee and Joakim Noah? :lmao

Carmelo Anthony is not a HoF player :lol dude has virtually no accolades and has accomplished nothing in the postseason

He'll probably get it based on his stats and ASGs, gold medals, and NCAA title.

He's borderline based on his NBA career if it ended today. With college and international play, he's going to get in.

Set aside the kids and it's waiver wire materiel top to bottom.

True I kinda forget they include international and college in their decision. still based on his NBA career he has been nothing special

Agree with that. But I don't think anyone who's scored as many points as he has has failed to make the HoF. I'd be okay if he were the first, tbh.

But that dilutes the whole HOF purpose, I mean there is a lot of USA team players than won gold Dwert, Boozer, Deron, Prince, Ty Chandler and they are not HOF material.
Team USA simply has no competition.

I think the Knicks will surprise a LOT of people this year. People shouldn't overlook the fact that Rose will be a FA and they shouldn't be shocked if he puts up an All-Star caliber year. They just need to be healthy to upset the Cavs. It's not a stretch to consider them one of the very few elite teams in the league.

They're not going to win 60 games but I expect them to challenge the Cavs.

I think unless you had a remarkable college career (speaking strictly in terms of American NBA players) I think eligibility should be measured with their NBA careers. The screening has been weak AF since th 60's though so it shouldn't be a surprise if we get another Drazen Petrovic, Earl Monroe case in here from the time to time...

Solid line-up on paper but far from a super team. Melo and Porzingas is a good start, if Noah and Rose were prime then maybe, but they aren't, so no.

Last seasons FG%
Rose 42%
Melo 43%
Porzingis 42%
Lee 45%
Jennings 36% lol
Noah 4ppg on 38% last year

Those shooting %'s are pathetic
