View Full Version : Warriors: I'm not buying that Warriors are winning the next 5 years

This idea that they are in title contention for 5 years is retarded...if Lebron and that heat team didnt win 7 and 8 titles this team definitely isnt. Why the F is every ESPN analyst saying they got a title for at least 5 years in a row?

I don't think anyone really believes they'll win 5 especially with their cap situation is still up in the air.

Teams will adapt and find their weaknesses, but if this core stays together they're definitely the odds on favorites to win titles in the foreseeable future. Of course, they were the favorites this season too... Winning 5 years in a row in the modern era is extremely difficult, even if you do have the best team-- so the odds of them winning 5 straight are pretty low.

I'd put the odds of Durant never winning a title with GS at at least 30 percent.

They won't win next year and their window will be shut. Some new team will rise up in the next couple seasons.

Warriors will win 1 or 2 titles in the next 5 years.

Diminished roles for key players and the absence of others will factor into a coaching adjustment that could take months to iron out, and they might not be as good as you think.

Theyre winning at least 3 out of 5 the next 5 years

I too think Warriors wont be as good, taking into account, their worsened chemistry, because they lost so many pieces from championship team, league is more prepared for them, and fact they so epically choked last year will also foster saltiness. As well as they got really lucky with having so many injuries to their opponents in 2015, and look what happened this year, they almost didn't make it to the Finals, if Durbeta didn't throw that series. I'd say they win one more championship over next 5 years, possibly two at the max.

2/5.

Lebron loves being the underdog.

And the likelihood of continuing concentration of talent producing another superteam is possible.

As good as they will be actually guarantees nothing. The league is full of clever sharp minds always plotting your downfall. It took all of a season and a half to seriously dent and ultimately destroy the small ball death lineup. Now not saying that won't win again, it may, and not just in GS, but as good as you think you are/were (think Spurs 2014) someone sitting around drinking coffee/watching video/brainstorming/think tanking while you spraying champagne. You know wot I mean?

Too much premier talent had to be sent away to permit Durant's arrival.

You can't do that to a championship team.

They won't win any titles with this core. They have 2 Peyton Manning's leading the way. :lmao at anyone thinking a team led by 2 Peyton Manning's is winning a fucking championship. I still can't believe all these dumbfucks on this site still think this. They really have to watch it happen AGAIN in order to believe it.

There was quite a few times the gsw starters smply got outplayed. Their bench saved them countless times. I don't see them being as consistent or difficult to Bring down after depleting their bench.

Yep, they were not ham & eggers. They were superior quality talent. Men who answered the bell. Frankly, I was under the impression they were going to keep the majority of those lost AND add Durant. If the Cavaliers could pay a $60 million dollar tax penalty why couldn't State?

They have a better chance to win championship next season than the Lakers' chance to make the playoffs, at least.

Perhaps negligibly, even then it's arguable. There is a lot of pomp & circumstance, a lot of symbolism to Durant's tenure. Trace substance.

Depends.

If Durant resigns next year long term,

they'll be contending team for 5 years.

If he leaves after next year,

with all they've lost,

unless they get lucky in FA next year,

7 out of 10 GSW is royally fucked...

You have more faith in Durant's foot, Steph's knees and ankles, and Draymond's anger management training evidently than I do.

I don't get people talking negatively about G.S.'s depth-- Iggy and Livingston are still there, and they swapped Barnes & Bogut for Durant & Zaza, which is a substantial upgrade. David West is a better defender than Speights, and Varejao is re-signed. I don't see them having any depth issues at all.

The new people are unproven. The five that are gone actually answered a bell & rang it. That seems easy now that's it rung.

This warrior team is miles better than those heat teams.

This warrior team is miles better than those heat teams.

Would probably rank it:

Lebron
Durant
Wade (2010-2012)
Curry
Draymond
Bosh (2012-2014)
Thompson
Bosh (2010-2012)
Wade (2012-2014)

I'd consider it a wash, especially considering that Miami was always able to have a decent amount of depth, whereas GS will most likely lose even more depth next off-season.
