:tu good listens

Something about the harmonica adds a quality to music no other instrument really brings. I picked up a harmonica from an estate sale ~10 years ago and wanted to learn to play it after listening to a song from Stevie Wonder. After my third day practicing I found the thing chewed up by my Doberman :lol

It was fun to play, I remember, maybe I'll pick it up again.

I started off trying to mimic Noah Lewis, Hammie Nixon and Will Shade, old time cats. Then I moved up to John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson. Took me a good year of playing a little every day to really get it.

I play backwards 10, 9, 8.....instead of 1, 2, 3. Just a better sound in my opinion. I recommend a C.

He first recorded in 1938 and his comsidered Da Man when it comes to early blues harmonica.

Track and football the only college sports that interest me.

Those Miami teams could do something that Notre Dame*** couldn't do, that being recruit speed. Miami could get guys who could never make the grades at ND. They were way too fast for The Irish.

Florida and Texas are the speed states with Cali close. So much speed comes out of Florida.

I always bought a number of records and tapes. I'd jump around and come back a few times before listening to everything....unless...it was a compilation. I have listened to those in one setting. I prefer variety so I have it.

A 9.8 with + 4 wind is actually a 10.16, which is still the fastest 100m ever ran by a white HSer.

Pretty cool, don't know much about track myself and didn't know the wind thing came to play - but I understand from a physics perspective. Hope he does great things, maybe he'll show up in 2024 olympics.

HS kids have actually medalled in the Olympics sprints. Arizona high schooler Dwayne Evans won the bronze in the 200m back in the 70's and Texas footballer to be Johnny Jones made the Olympic 100m final as a HS kid.

The best story.

Just a few years high school kids Noah Llyes and Michael Norman came in 4th/5th at our 2016 Olympic trials in the 200m. Now both are the best at 200 with Lyles and Norman in the 400m.

The big news with Boling is...fast white kid. If a black sprinter was running those times, not close to being that big a deal.

Hell, the HS 100m record is a 10.00 by the black Trendarvis Friday, who even knows this?

This Texas kid Matthew Boling is headed to Georgia a school not really known for sprinting. They've had a few of merit but nothing like LSU/Florida/Arkansas/Tennessee. Their best 100m man ever was Mel Lattany a 9.98 cat. I do think it's totally realistic to think Boling could surpass that.

There has never been a GREAT white SEC sprinter, will this kid be the first?

Just yesterday a kid from U of Oregon ran a 9.97 100m, a new school record and the first Oregon sub10.00.

Twice in school history Oregon sprinters ran world records 100 yards as school records. Why is it we never get any of that kind of thing out of our EXPERT?

Ok New Poster that 4x1 will have a proven combo leading off in Mike Rodgers handing off to Justin Gatlin as you know they have been together for awhile now so that experience is there, that chemisty which is a relay. Now it gets a little funky because we have ti use Christian Coleman on that third leg, and you know why, yep Noah Lyles must anchor, there is nobody he can't run down.

That long second leg.

Every 4x1 team will have two guys faster than the other two. So what you want to do is maximize the time your two fastest sprinters have the stick. So they will go on the straights the second leg and the anchor.

The leadoff runner wants to hand of as early in the zone as possible, this gives that second leg who is either your best spinter or second best a good 110m to run if done right, which is hand off late in the next zone giving that third leg a short turn to run, and he wants to hand off as soon as he can so your other stud has longer to run.

Studs 220m, other two 180 of a 400m. If done right.

The Germans first came up with this at the 1960 Olympics when they ran Armin Hary their Olympic 100m champ on that second leg.

When Ato Boldon was at UCLA he ran that second leg, here was a 9.8 sprinter, one of the fastest in the world up against 10.4 guys, the damage he did there was dramatic.
