West Germany felt robbed with the 3rd goal, the ball hit the woodwork and rebounded on the line but the lineman said it passed the line. No one remembers that the second West German goal that sent the game to overtime was irregular too. In both cases a close call, not so evident even with 20 repetitions.

England was good until '90, then the Euro ban took its toll and they never recovered. Sure, the PL is good but star players are other NT's internationals.

From late 70's to the mid 80's banning English teams dominated all Euro cups. In '90 they were 4th, they had a shot, the meet the eventual champion West Germany in the semis. I think it ended 2:2 and was decided by penalties. Still, it's more than 25 years ago.
