SEATTLE - Seattle SuperSonics General Manager Rick Sund announced today that Reggie Evans has signed a one-year qualifying offer to remain with the Sonics.

"We’re thrilled to have one of the top rebounders in the NBA back in a Sonics uniform this season," said Sund. "Reggie is a tenacious rebounder and he has always found a way to have an impact on the court. He’s like a bulldog around the boards."

Last season, Evans' third in the NBA, he averaged 4.9 points and a career-high 9.3 rebounds in 79 games. Evans, who was not drafted by an NBA team, signed with Seattle as a free agent on Sept. 30, 2002.

In a related move, the Sonics requested waivers on swingman Omar Thomas, a rookie guard/forward from UTEP. The Sonics now have 20 players in training camp.

This pretty much means that there's no room for them to sign any of their camp invitees (including Noel) :cry

I've never liked Evans, he's like Rasho...but with worse defense, shooting, and free throw percentage.(I'd guess)
