I think I'll use this idiots.... ANOTHER.... stupid thread as an Avante showing off thread.

Let's talk some Olympics, time for you dumb shits to learn a few things.

In a few days you will see the 4x1 relays, each country with their 4 fastest sprinters teaming up. Would ya believe in 1932 the USA brought in a team only there to run the 4x1? None of our 100m sprinters were on that team. No Eddie Tolan , no Ralph Metcalfe, no George Simpson. Yep, we won anyway. That is depth.

In 1960, Wilma Rudoplh won the Oly 100, then ran the 4x1 with her Tennessee State 4x1 teammates. Yep, a college team representing the USA, that was a first and it's never happened since.

Would ya believe we have to go back to 1964 and Ivy Leaguer (Dartmouth) Gerry Ashworth to find a white sprinter on a USA Olympic 4x1 team?

The first all black 4x1 team to win an Oly gold was in 1968. The team of...

Mel Pender Army (was suppose to run on that 64 team, injuries did him in)...all 5-5 of him.
Charlie Greene Nebraska
Ronnie Ray Smith SJS
Jimmy Hines Texas Southern

If Eulace Peacock hadn't been injured in 36 and we'd took 200m medalist Mack Robinson (older brother of Jackie) and put him on that 3rd leg, them along with Oly gold/silver medalists Jesse Owens, Ralph Metcalfe. That would have been the first great all black 4x1 teamin of all places Nazi Germany.

Now see, ya learned something.

If you saw the movie...RACE. You saw Eulace Peacock mentioned a few times. Being the movie was about Jesse Owens they didn't tell the real story.

Peacock totally owned Owens at 100m, he beat him five times in a row and had a 7-3 advantage. And if not for an injury he would have beaten Owens in that Berlin Oly 100m. And, he had also beat Owens in tthe long jump, but I do doubt he beats him again, Owens was a great long jumper. It's very realistic to see Peacock winning a gold in the 100m, a silver in the long jump and a gold in the 4x1 relay. But because of an injury...............................

Eulace Peacock (August 27, 1914 - December 13, 1996) was an American (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/United_States) track and field (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Track_and_field) athlete in the 1930s.
Born in Dothan, Alabama (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Dothan,_Alabama) and raised in New Jersey (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/New_Jersey), he became a rival to Jesse Owens (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Jesse_Owens) in many sprinting competitions. He broke the high school record in the long jump the same day it was bettered by Owens. "I had that record for two hours."[1] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-si-1) He attended Temple University (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Temple_University) in Philadelphia (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Philadelphia) where he became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Alpha_Phi_Alpha) fraternity. Peacock won the Amateur Athletic Union (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Amateur_Athletic_Union) (AAU) outdoor pentathlon championship six times, in 1934, 1935, 1937, and from 1943 through 1945.[2] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-2)

He was a sprinting prodigy, who bested the notable prodigy of his time, Owens, on several occasions.[1] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-si-1) After pulling a hamstring (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Hamstring) muscle, he was unable to qualify for the 1936 Summer Olympics (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/1936_Summer_Olympics) in Berlin, Germany (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Berlin,_Germany).

In 1942 he served in the US Coast Guard; in later years he opened a liquor store and a car-rental business. He stayed connected with athletics by officiating at championship events and Olympic qualifying trials. He has been honoured by a number of athletic bodies, including the National Track and Field Hall of Fame (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/National_Track_and_Field_Hall_of_Fame).
Eulace Peacock died of Alzheimer's disease (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Alzheimer%27s_disease) at age 82 in Yonkers (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Yonkers) and was interred in Kensico Cemetery (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Kensico_Cemetery) in Valhalla, NY.

This is what happens when ya know your stuff.

Here we see Bo Jackson ran down. The announcers had no clue that that Bengal giving chase was a sprint star out of SMU named Rod Jones, who should have ran Jackson down. I sat there.."Jones will catch him"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgYYaL--1qc

Roderick Wayne Jones (born March 31, 1964 in Dallas, Texas (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Dallas,_Texas)) is a former professional American football (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/American_football) cornerback (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Cornerback) who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Tampa_Bay_Buccaneers) in the 1st round (25th overall) of the 1986 NFL Draft (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/1986_NFL_Draft). A 1982 graduate of South Oak Cliff High School (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/South_Oak_Cliff_High_School) and former player for Southern Methodist University (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Southern_Methodist_University),[1] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-dmnsports-1) Jones played in 11 seasons for the Bucs and Cincinnati Bengals (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Cincinnati_Bengals) from 1986 to 1996.**** At SMU, he was an All-American in the 400 meters, and won national titles with the 1,600-meter relay team in 1984 and 1986**********. The latter occurred only four days before his report to Buccaneers training camp. He won SMU's Big Hit award in his last two football seasons, where he was nicknamed "K.O." for his hard-hitting play.[2] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-2) He was later named as one of the players who had received slush-fund money in the scandal that resulted in SMU receiving the "death penalty" (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Southern_Methodist_University_football_scandal) from the NCAA (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/NCAA).[3] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-3)
