Parker had a good game that game. Duncan was the superstar that game; and Bowen's defense was stellar. He made Kobe look like a role player. Ginobili's intangibles were a big thing as always. The way he crossed up Shaq by stepping one way and then going another is still the best I've ever seen that technique executed. And the Spurs role players played really well for being a road game.

2003 NBA Finals
Parker: 35.3 MPG, 14 PPG, 38.6 FG
Claxton: 12.5 MPG, 6.2 PPG, 56.0 FG
And Kidd was the Nets leading scorer b/c of Parker's bad defense. They put Claxton in whenever he was starting to get hot. But frankly, all the nets shot like sh** that series.

You're the one overrating the impact of a mediocre role player who put up less than half the production of the starting PG who was the second option throughout the playoffs (including the Finals). You're the one propping up a guy because he scored 6 points in a quarter. Then you devalue Parker doing twice that in 2014.

Parker was not reliable back in the day. It was akin to beno in his early years.
One year in the playoffs i remember beno bringing the ball up the court and went to dribble behind his back from his left hand to his right and it was like a pass directly to the defender for a uncontested fastbreak and layup.

This posters attitude is certainly often too bright, the evidence they provide is usually way more compelling then the anti Parker crew's recycled nuggets of YouTube clips. Fair enough. He was a second year player and only 20 years old nonetheless.
He struggled in that Nets series and he could no longer manage the 20+ ppg load he once was able to for the past few years. He's a role player now; he's not worthless. I can understand if you don't like his salary but to say he has no value is false.
Prime Marbury was All-NBA no shame in a 20 year old struggling against that. Marbury also fell off a cliff when he went to the Knicks.

Who said anything about fault? He came into the league at 19 and it steadily improved. By his 5th year in the league he was deadly from midrange to supplement his elite quickness and finishing. He's slowed down from then but he does a good job of running the offense and picking his spots playing off his teammates. The corner 3 has also helped his game giving him an area to improve as he rides off into the sunset.
You are not going to age well and panic I am guessing if it hasn't already started. You just don't know how to reckon change.
