Wish I could hit this one up. WW1 is the most underrated, undercovered, underappreciated conflict of the modern era. In terms of America, only the Korean War is second.

That's horrendous, setting resolution scale to 50 means you're rendering at a little more than 720p and then upscaling like XBox One. That is fucking garbage on a GTX 680, fuck this game if you have to turn down settings from rendering at around 720p and you still can't lock to 60 fps.

I think the setting 50 is 100% and you upscale/downscale. But I might be wrong.

Nope.. 50 is the default 1080p. The higher you go above 50 boosts the amount of SSAA per the in game menu

Yeah you're right, if I set to 100 it upscales like hell. The tip on the side of the setting in the menu says <100 is less than full resolution, >100 is upscaling, but the highest you can set is 100 and performance is shit then. On 50 I get about 80 fps on ultra with my 970 at stock.

Turns out res scale should be 42 for native resolution. Putting that at native brings my fps up to around 90. :lol

The physics are much better.. the bullets feel like they pack the correct level of velocity, and the bodies react like they should if you keep firing into them as they fall :tu

This has the potential to be the best BF since Bad Company 2 (still the standard-bearer in the series IMO).

3 and 4 were pretty busted at launch. But my favorite thing about 1 is that I have yet to have a situation where I run behind a wall and die afterward. Dunno what they did to the netcode but it's so much more robust with regard to bullet physics.

Also, holy shit the ragdoll and destruction physics might be the best in any game I've ever played. It's amazing to hit a building with a tank and watch bodies go flying through the air.

I don't know how BF3 servers work, but BF4 has the option to go up to a 120hz server.. The issue is the players need to be able to keep their framerates above whatever the tickrate is for a smooth working experience, which is why most are 40 or 50.

Bought it about a week ago. Been playing the series since Bad Company 2 and became a pretty decent player http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/midnightpulp/stats/306194821/pc/

So far, it's my least favorite of the next gen BFs. The older tanks just aren't as fun to drive as modern tanks. Like driving a fuckin' slug. And you can't coordinate with a gunner with something like laser targeting like you could in 3 and 4. Nothing better than tagging a chopper, firing a heatseeker, and bringing that bitch down. And smoke. Smoke fuckin' everywhere, from mustard gas to spammed smoke grenades. And horses can take like a full clip before they die. I supposed they did that for game balance, so you don't feel so powerless on a horse, essentially making them into this version's ATVs. Guns handle and feel great, though.

That said, I don't dislike the game at all. Just slightly like it less than 3 and 4 (so far). If I see Cry Havoc, I'll jump in with ya. I'll be on around 10pst if you're on.

Old guns like bolt actions and semi auto rifles are much more fun to shoot in these games than modern guns, but yeah, the old vehicles, while cool, just aren't maneuverable enough for my taste. You feel like a sitting duck, especially with how every class has anti-tank capabilities and field guns all over the map.
