The west was pretty weak overall especially at the bottom ...no team would stay consistently good but the Sonics, Blazers, mavs, Jazz had some good 80s teams ...heck even the Nuggs played crazy uptempo ball shot 3s like a poor mans kerr warriors ...

Hell yes it would have taken a load off not only Bird but McHale and Parish could have had some minutes reduced also.
Along with Stern receiving buttfks and money for destroying the Rockets, Spurs owner selling out and giving the Fakers Michelle Thompsan.
