View Full Version : Clippers Has Blake Griffin become the most underrated superstar in the league?

Blake in the 2015 postseason was the closest thing to LeBron & has been a monster when he isn't sharing the lime light w/ Choke-P3 but nobody mentions him when it comes to potential MVP candidates.

Considering what took place last season, I expect him to come w/ vengeance & put up something like 25/10/6 especially since CP3 is going to be on a decline thus it will be Blake's team.

The Clippers are in the same situation as the 2011 Mavs who were written off as contenders after they underachieved in the postseason.

Lebron comparispns are foolish or misguided at best.
I thougjt he had a shorter but more athletic Duncan potential he even handled and passed up top better than Tim probably a more athletic cwebb is more apt.
Although a legit star he was never truly those guys tbh

If thread title said most forgotten I'd agree...underrated? Meh hes a Webber type player mentally. He's very good but not champion material

too bad for him, tbh..just as he was about to have monster peak season last year..he is a candidate for an Amare-like decline once he his athleticism took a hit from all injuries..

Blake is a great passer and a great modrange shooter..he's not going to decline like Amare. If he does decline, he's still going to play at a top 20 player level

If anything that video just made me think more about LBJ being the GOAT :lol He's just unreal.

Blake is underrated I think. I agree he's a really special talent. I hope he has his best year ever coming up.

can score down low, can shoot midrange

defense is iffy, but who cares about defense right? if ur going to hold that against him then that should be apply to anyone offensive ballhog who plays no lick of defense...

notice alot of players hate the clown and want to start a fight with him...easy picking?

We would see his true colors if CP3 goes to another team.

Choke Paul and his sycophants in the media have done a great job of making Blake the scapegoat for all of Choke's failures, that's for sure.

Blake has evolved into a great offensive big man. His post game, while often ugly and awkward looking, is effective. He's added the midrange shot to his arsenal. His handles, passing skills and court vision are unfair for a player with his size and athleticism. He needs to work on his defense, though. He will never be a great defender because of his wingspan, but he can do better on that end. He also needs to crash the boards like he did in his rookie year.

Blake has always been underrated. Early on, there was the whole "he can only dunk" narrative and dumbass casuals swearing that Kevin Love and LaMarsha were better than him. Now he's just not talked about at all anymore, until Choke fails in the playoffs again and needs a scapegoat to blame it on.

Blake's midrange is a system of CP3. You take out CP3 for a Westbrook type and they do way worse. CP3 is the system in LA.

Blake needs to get better on D. If he does, he'll definitely be a top big. Very complete on offense as of now.

No, it's a product of Bob Thate - the same guy who gave _ason Kidd his J.

Replace Choke Paul with Alphabrook and we go to at least two WCFs the last few years. Russ wouldn't have pussied out against OKC and Houston like CP0 did.

He is underrated, tbh... but then again, the Clippers should've done better with him by now... not sure if Cock Rivers is setting them back or what...

It is the term superstar that is over-rated. Griffin has not accomplished anything of significant note yet.

Griffin doesnt have the counting stats to support his case even though we all know he's more than capable of putting up crazy numbers. Like Kawhi....but Kawhi has the defensive reputation so despite not scoring as much he always has that defense going for his reps.

Griffin is one of the better help defender and help the helper defender among bigs in the league too but those are details that are difficult to spot by your average mainstream vanilla spursfans...

Clippers go from losing to the Nets in double OT to beating the defending champs on the road. And all it took was reinserting Blake Griffin back into the line-up.

What an impact.

Blake moves his feet so well on defense man, he really crowd the paint area though not having the greatest of wing span.

The argument wasn't about LeBron being underrated, one game doesn't chAnge him being the best player in the world.. we all know that, even you. Your goal post movement is horrendous. Was a horrible bump. Just take the L, and save face.

They need to break this Clippers team up. I'm fucking sick of seeing them choke all the time. Yet again I was fooled thinking they'll push the Warriors tonight and might beat them, but instead they got another beat down, and what's worse was that it was on their own court.

Every year they're pegged to take out the Warriors and every year they get a beat down from the Warriors just like they did again last night. I've had enough of hearing about them and seeing them shit the bed.

Offensively I thought he had and he did similar ball handling with better passing and vision if you did not see that not sure what to tell you. Young Tim when feeling frisky used to show off a little bit of handle ..obvious difference is that Tim continued to master a post game and the bank shot improved his
passing While Blake became an even better passer but his post game never got Tim's Polish ...
My point was that I hoped he would develop in to a poor man's Tim but instead we got a mix of cwebb with a dash of Amare ...
The coach in me had hoped for more ...

He doesnt even dunk anymore, first he was an elite monkeyballer a slammer, then developed a mid shot, now he doesnt slam or shoot...
All Clips looked gassed, especially Chris Paul.
