I've had league pass for years now and the blackouts have been really dissapointing. I live in Canada so for the most part, i get to watch the 60+ games but when the spurs are on National TV..it's always a blackout. Canadian cables basically offer the same nationat tv games...plus no Playoff games..which sucks because im forced to buy cable or watch off a shitty stream.

I looked into ballstreams but they got busted last year..so thats not an option.

Any other options?

Maybe i do again, for the same reason i did last year.
Here in Argentina we donīt have all Spurs games.
Last season i got it because it was most likely Timīs last season, and maybe Manuīs too.
This is most likely Manuīs last season, and like Timīs, i want to watch him all i can.

I would get league pass everytime if I lived in argentina. To my knowledge, you guys dont have blackouts.

Only reason i dont like league pass is because of blackouts.

I just quit LP specifically because of blackouts. Too many, especially as you get later into the season.

I can only imagine how much worse it is for a spursfan living in San Antonio :lol

I atleast get to watch about 55-60 games on LP depending on how how many times the spurs were on national tv :lol...

Sucks that all playoffs games are blacked out too...Sometmies you get the occasional first round game that isnt in on any canadian broadcast and they show it on LP..but thats one game every playoffs.

I think national TV games are blocked out (as are local); but I have cable. I just get it for the out of market Spurs mostly. Last year, the games were so predictable. I have a lot going right now; so, paying more to check out the other handful of teams I have some interest in wasn't as appealing this year, and work has been slow.

I will subscribe during the free period, but I am not paying for it. I may change my mind if they do offer on demand blackout games. Does anyone know if they do? For example Spurs play the Warriors and it's on ESPN, obviously I can't watch it live with LP, but can I watch it later on demand, I mean after the game is over?

apalisoc_9

They show all replays...even blacked out games.

After the blackoit game is over, you wait for 30 minutes..then the full game will be available.

Yeah us Aussies are contributing to the Salary Cap jump. It's a fair hit, but still the cheapest option here because our one and only cable provider is even worse. On top of that 90% of the games they show live are Lakers games.

You'd think with Australians being the largest subscribers to international league pass in world, they might throw us a bone and play a friendly here one day!

Yea, it annoys me that they block out NBA TV games in the US. That seems totally unnecessary. Games besides the national TV replays have a choice of home or away announcers though. So, in 2015 in that pivotal game at Houston, LP subscribers were subjected to Clyde Drexler, possibly the most abysmal announcer in the league.

I live in Plano and couldn't get the games that were on FSSW because they were blacked out here for other regional games. The League Pass website is maybe the worst in all of the webs. I tried to change my credit card for the autodraft and there is no way to do it. Since the old card is no longer working, I finally decided to cancel the subscription and re-order later. Maybe I'll try one of the VPN suggestions since I have a working VPN. (By the way, I saw today that the Opera browser offers a free VPN. I use Opera a lot anyway, but didn't know about the VPN access so I'll check it out.)

Finally, I have a smart TV but I'm not smart enough to be using it. Isn't there a way to get the Spurs games on the direct access of the smart TV. Do you have to get LP television accesss somehow. I'm asking yall since LP has such a shit website that I will be wasting my time to go there.

It doesn't matter what credit card you use, you can even use pay pal tbh. But you set your vpn to say brazil. Log in, sign up for cheaper, then log off. Now when the season starts you lset your vpn to say Australia, Europe or something, and log in. All games will be available. I also heard, although havent tested it out yet, but you can turn your vpn off before you start a match and it still works.

So exactly how does it work when you log in. Do you log in from one of the countries served by your VPN?

tbdog
10-01-2016, 04:43 PM
So exactly how does it work when you log in. Do you log in from one of the countries served by your VPN?

Yes, so in short a vpn does 2 things. It encrypts data and masks your IP address and replaces it with another.

So the first stage is great for protection. VPN was original designed for corporates to access their work files from another location not at work. So the employer would access head office via a VPN and then send and received sensitive information and no hacker can intercept the files. This may mean nothing to you, but for example you are protected from torrenting. Your Internet Provider knows your download files but doesn't know where you are downloading your files from.

The second stage is that you can select some IP addresses and mask your location. This is perfect for any website that changes their policies depending on the client's region. For example, Yahoo sports videos cannot be accessed from my country, but when I change my location to LA, I can watch all the yahoo nba highlights. It is also good for companies that use regional pricing, such as NBA league pass. So what I did was, changed my location to Brazil. Load NBA league pass website. Log in and buy a year subscription for $130AU cheaper. That is it - I now own a year subscription to NBA league pass. Now I can log into NBA league pass on any IP address (Doesn't have to be a Brazil IP), and watch any game. If I was to use a US IP address then blackouts occur. So if a Spurs game has been blacked out, access an Australian VPN, then load the page up, sign in, and boom you are watching a Spurs game.

There are other little tricks for internet shopping. Eg, 2k Games use regional pricing, so games like NBA 2k is $10US more here in Australia just because I am here in Australia, even when buying it digitally. So although Steam can ban my account if I was to use a VPN to change my IP region and purchase games through their store, I can however buy a CD key from another websites like Greenmangaming. I make my IP address US, buy the game for the standard US price, then receive my key, activate it on steam, and boom I got NBA 2k for $10 US cheaper, which is like $15AU cheaper. You can also do this for Origin store, which is EA. I bought Battlefield 4 with a Mexican IP address, which made the game a whole lot cheaper.

So in short, buy a VPN to save you money for internet shopping, flexibility, and security. I hope this makes sense.

I am not doubting you, but I used a vpn for years. I once even accidentally had a US VPN activated when I logged into LP and noticed all these blacks outs. Exacrtly! Spurs games are often only on FSSW but in Plano they get preempted for other FSSW feeds such as soccer matches or other NBA games which I assume the powers at FSSW think are of more interest to folks in the Dallas metro area. So I pay for games that i should be able to see on LP, but don't get them. LP just says they have no control over FoxSSW but they don't offer to give me a refund either. It's a problem in their system that creates a rip off IMHO>so I'm up for doing whatever I can to get better service for the money I pay.

By the way, does anyone know about how the smart tv version of LP works?

I did the same last year.

With SlingTV I get all of the national broadcast games. Only two year Spurs games in my town per year, and I usually go to at least one so there's much to worry about as far as BOs go. For $120 it's a good deal. The fact that they archive the games and include the 10-minute condensed version is awesome too.

I didn't renew my LP last year because I wanted to try ballstreams but that fell under so I lucked out and found a decent stream that was in hd to watch all the Spurs games on this last season. I found http://www.hehestreams.xyz/ which is apparently from the same people as ballstreams or its just like ballstreams. Not sure if I'll try that, I want to see if I can find the same stream that I used last year before I throw any $$$ at one of these risky streaming sites. I used League Pass broadband with my roku and it seemed to work decent enough but I didn't like the price and a lot of the games on broadband were not in HD. A decent stream with a chromecast to watch on my tv works well enough for my cheap ass.

I didn't renew my LP last year because I wanted to try ballstreams but that fell under so I lucked out and found a decent stream that was in hd to watch all the Spurs games on this last season. I just had a look at that site and I think I want to try it. It says you choose how much money (in the form of an Amazon gift card or bitcoin) to donate. You'll either get accepted or rejected. Any idea on what amount to donate?

This will be the first year in a long time that I don't get League Pass. Trying to find some enthusiasm for this season but it's just not there.

Same for me. Maybe I get it later if they have some special offer.

I would try $10/month and see if that works, isn't that around what ballstreams cost? I don't know but the worse that could happen is you get rejected.

I am a cord cutter. I use a Firetv with KODI side loaded to stream tv and movies. Last year, it seemed that the redditt based feeds were getting shut down. So, I paid $38 in Bitcoin for a three month subscription for a sports "add-on." An add-on is basically an app. The add on that I use live streams in HD. It features every NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, college football, and college basketball games. It also has MMA (including the big pay per view fights) boxing, international sports like rugby, cricket, and soccer. It even has live streams for the presidential debates, game of thrones, walking dead, Jimmy kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Fallon.

That is such a funny service summary. Very misleading. All playoff games are blackout...so they are not available. Its only availavle with ILP..technically, its not wrong but very misleading

Isn't this stuff illegal though? I don't see how using a Firestick like this and watching movies, pay per views etc is legal.

It's illegal to broadcast a sporting event. It is illegal to download and possess media files (music, torrents, etc.) I'm just watching streamed content. I am not downloading anything. Obviously I am going against the "spirit of the law" but it isn't illegal until the loophole is closed. I don't feel guilty. The regional monopolies that are cable providers have been ripping the public off for decades. Consumers have had little choice but to pay their ever increasing ridiculous prices. There is very little competition in the market which means there is no incentive to offer fair pricing or faster internet. Fuck 'em. I also can't stand it when sports leagues blackout games. A league pass should allow a person to watch every team and every game without restriction.

I installed Kodi on my Firestick. But the only streams I found are pretty bad. What is the name of this add-on?

I've been subscribing to NBALP since somewhere around 2001 or 2002. I'm itching to ditch the cable, but can't find an alternative that takes care of my Spurs fix. Live streams can be spotty, and with League Pass on cable, I can record to the DVR and play at my convenience (which is usually after the wife falls asleep lol).

Appreciate it my man. Most of the internet streams are only available live, or only become available for playback mode after the game is over or the next day. I have a very specific window to be able to watch games.

Also, with internet feeds, even the NBALP Broadband access, it's so hard to navigate through commercials and free throw attempts without losing your place. There's no easy 30-second forward button, and it would take 10 seconds to buffer even if it existed. With a DVR, I can watch a 2.5 hour game in 75-90 minutes.

Not only is it the only legal and right way to get Spurs games out of market, there simply isn't another platform that will offer what I need. It's not perfect, but it's the best I've got for now.

I didn't think there was a team option with International League Pass? I thought you either pay monthly or annually and with both you get to watch every team.

Thanks for the head up. lI did too. Used my VPN server in Montreal. Paid the annual fee and Got my confirmaiton and everything--- and then could't watch any of the first 5 games. Got a message that the game was blacked out because it was available in Canada on TV which was patently bullshit. Is this NBA international shit working for anybody?

I've heard that the best place to proxy/vpn through is India, apparently cheapest + no blackouts. Here in Chile it usually goes for about 200 usd/ year 15 / month, I'll do like last year and wait for the final months of the season to go month to month depending on how healthy/good the team is...

I'd pay for the US version of LP if it was worth a shit. Last year about half my Spurs games were blacked out because the games were broadcast on FoxSW. The trouble with that was the FSSSW is a regional network and in the Dallas metro area they weren't showing the Spurs like they were in SA or somewhere. All I could get would be some stupid soccer match. The LP folks said that was a local decision and tough shit. So the straight NBA LP is not an option for me.

I was able to get on the free trial for Reborn last nite for the second half and picture was fine. Onvly caveat was I couldn't figure how to go full screen. The difference between annual and monthly is a lot (100 vs. 15 monthly). I wonder how long they have been in business and how long these outfits last before the NBA gets them closed down. The temptation is to go for the annual, but caution warns it is possibly a gamble.

I'm in school out here in the Caribbean so i simply go to NBA league pass website and simply sign up...I watch from a Caribbean island and it works as it should. It however wont work when i come back to San Antonio. I once tried that with a VPN and my account was put on lock the very next morning.
