McHale had one of the best up and under moves in NBA history ...but kG was a better all around player ...

They both have the same number of top 10 finishes in MVP voting as Celtics: Garnett one (he was #3 in 07-08 voting) and McHale one (he was #4 in 87-88 voting). I'd take 07-08 Garnett in a second over any version of McHale that ever played though.

No doubt and some fans here claim to value defense, unselfishness and leadership ...but always underrated KG in comparison to Dirk, for example and now McHale ... (for the record I originally was leaning KG but now have Dirk slightly ahead, all time)

I never understood the hate on KG. I found him entertaining even when he was clowning the Lakers in 2008. I think he'll go down as one of the most under appreciated player in history. Almost became a Laker too in 2007.
