What gets ignored a lot in these Power Rankings is scheduling which is huge in the NFL. The Pats come out of the gate....

road
home
home
home
road

Then there's the Dolphins

road
road
home
road
home

That just ain't right. Now here's the Packers...

road
road
home
BYE
home
home
home

What????

Ok, here's what I do starting after week 5.

3 points for a road win
2 for a home win
1 for a road loss
0 for a home loss

This is what I came up with.

1.Vikes 12
2.Falcons 11
3.Raiders 11
4.Pats 10
5.Steelers 10
6.Broncos 10
7.Cowboys 10
8.Bills 9
9.Rams 9
10.Seahawks 8

Eagles 8, Packers 8, Ravens 8, Texans, Redskins 8

Yes I decide on the tie breakers.

Winning on the road in the NFL is the true test of these teams status, as is losing at home. Good teams rarely lose at home, bad teams rarely win on the road.

One thing that is becoming more and more a huge factor in all of this is injuries. So many injuries, and so soon in a new season. Imagine a RB playing nine seasons banging into everyone and he never missed a play/a game because of injury....Jim Brown.

Then there is this. It takes about now, five weeks to have enough info to make it work.

http://www.nfl.com/standings

Look at the Steelers, they are 3-0 at home, they score 139, give up 93, that is a plus 4 (13 over 9)
Look at the Colts, they are 0-2 on the road, they score 137, give up 148, that is a minus 1.

Now take their power points for the Steelers at 10 plus 4 vs the Colts which is 6 minus 1, that gives us...5

So....Steelers 14, Colts 5

Just a tool when figuring ATS "spots".

Look at that Falcons vs Seahawks game Sunday. There are the Falcons on the road AGAIN vs a team at home coming off a bye week. That is a huge advantage Seahawks. So many totally ignore these "spots" that strongly favor a side.

Not a big believer in Minny I see. I saw yesterday that they are dead last in rushing (so far). Gotta wonder if that trend is gonna continue.

Can their defense play that good all year long?

NE's best win on the season was a win at home against the overrated Texans. I'm not sure how that justifies ranking them in the top 2 of any poll.

When you can go 4-1 in the NFL using three different QB's, you have a great "team".
