All smack talk aside, has the thought of the Texas Three-Step road trip ever been more frightening for the rest of the NBA?

Hmmm...prior to last season when was the last time all 3 teams made the playoffs in the same season? 1989-90?

Well, there was the spell in the nineties when San Antonio and Houston had good basketball teams and Dallas had a football team full of criminals who might attack visiting NBA teams in a cocaine fueled rage.

I really don't see Dallas as much of a threat. Are they better than most teams in the NBA? Yes but they still can't compete with elite teams like San Antonio, Detroit, Indiana and Miami. In fact, if I were to rank the West right now, they would definately not have home court advantage in the first round.

They're still a playoff team.

It's a pretty stout group right now.
I wonder how many teams actually have that trip on the schedule this season.

Houston collapse to Dallas was laughable. Dirk’s breakdown showed his true colors as a leader. While both will be better this season neither can hold a candle to SA. But, yeah, the three together make an awful road trip for other teams.

You guys are not giving Avery enough credit. Dallas had a totally fucked up season coaching wise last year and just giving Avery a full training camp and pre-season and season will make Dallas better. They WILL start playing better defense and they definitely have scorers. They will be a damn tough road game for ANY team in the NBA including the Spurs.

^^ Agreed.
I still expect Dallas to have the second-best record in Texas. Dampier is a big key, and from what I've heard, he looks really good in camp.

Actually, Spurs 38-3, Dallas 29-12, Houston 26-15.
Thanks! I couldn't find that info.
I actually thought the Mavs had a worst home record.
Records and seeding aside, they could be the Top 3 teams in the West.
Horry For 3!
