Buford laments loss of Boban; Spurs cut Richards

SAN ANTONIO – If the Spurs had their way, fan favorite Boban Marjanovic would still be on their roster after his surprising per-36-minute effort of 21 points and 13.7 rebounds as a rookie last season.

That was clear from the way general manager R.C. Buford lamented the loss of the 7-foot-3 Serbian during a lengthy interview with reporters after Wednesday’s practice.

“From a playing style standpoint, Boban is so unique,” Buford said. “And then from a cultural standpoint, his personality just, you guys know what a great guy he was.

“He was just a terrific fit and we wish him great success in Detroit.”

As a restricted free agent, Marjanovic agreed to a hefty three-year, $21 million deal with the Pistons in the summer.
The Spurs had no choice but to let him go because they needed the cap space to re-sign Manu Ginobili after Philadelphia offered him a two-year deal that would have guaranteed him $16-$17 million in 2016-17, according to Yahoo.com. Ginobili eventually re-signed with the Spurs for a one-year, $14 million deal.

^^ gracias.

“We knew he was gone,” Popovich said. “It happens to every team. You lose a guy because you have to pay people and you can’t pay them all.”

Absolute bullshit.
The following, in this order can go f themselves.
Porker. Enough said.
Pau (Instead of a Championship pursuit chooses Bulls over Spurs and now rapes the Spurs for 15 million a year.)

Ginobili. Who would have thought he had some Kobme in him. Duncan must be disgusted.

Zero true interest in a Championship from all 3 of them.
