Off the top of my head, I wouldn't take Crosby over Gretzky, Mario, Messier, Orr, Howe, Rocket Richard, or Patrick Roy. He's won nothing without loaded teams and Lakers/Warriors-style rigging in his favor.

The Penguins have won three Cups in the Crosby era and he hasn't led the team in points for any of them. Malkin carried him in 2009 and this year, Kessel carried him last year.

It's a hockey tradition. Red Wings fans have been throwing dead octopi onto the ice during home playoff games since the '50s. Panthers fans throw plastic toy rats on the ice after goals and home wins. Predators fans have been doing the catfish toss since the 2002-03 season (it actually started during a game against the Wings).

My Pens have had a very sound and shrewd offseason so far. Yes, they had some major subtractions, Fleury, Kunitz, Bonino, and Daley. However, they didn't panic, but instead signed a few low cost, quality veterans, plus we get Letang back. They lost coach Tocchet, now the HC for the Coyotes, but replaced him with HOFer Recchi. They also just added Gonchar to the coaching staff to help coach up the PP. Gonchar was one helluva player on the PP. Now, we just wait and see if Cullen will come back. Also, there might me a trade or two to be made as the season approaches.

Still, I really like our chances, as long as we remain relatively healthy, to strongly compete for the Stanley Cup Hat Trick. We should be a top 4 team in the entire league, record-wise.
