Is that why the Saints are the New Orleans/San Antonio Saints?

Also, some games are being played in Baton Rouge as well. :spin

He is correct. I have seen things like that all over the place. Yahoo Sports has it New Orleans/Oklahoma City, even nba.com has it New Orleans/Oklahoma City.

Yes I know he's correct.

Hense the title of my post. Saints fans and some press have gone crazy over what San Antonio has done yet I hear a peep about Oklahoma City and what they have done.

Well yeah I see what you're saying...And I do agree that SaTown is going a litte too crazy over the Saints. I mean its the Saints. It makes us look really desperate.
But OKC is a great town that is often overlooked, other than the tragic events that happened in 95, and should be excited about the Hornets....but then again it is the Hornets.

Wait, you completely and totally contradicted yourself.

Why does San Antonio seem desperate and Oklahoma City doesn't?

I didn't say OKC doesn't look desperate. I just said I don't blame them for being excited.

I'm sorry, NFL > NBA

San Antonio should be excited as well.

The difference is that George Shinn and David Stern have said repeatedly that Oklahoma City is a temporary home for the 05-06 season. I think they have some sort of provision in place to play 06-07 there as well if the Hornets cannot play in New Orleans by then.

Benson and Tags not only aren't seeing eye-to-eye as far as all the Baton Rouge/SA/LA shit flies, but the Saints have been an institution in Louisiana since the 60's. The Hornets just got there in '01 or so, and don't really get the support that was expected when Shinn whored out and nobody paid attention.

Shit, OKC is only 3 hours from DFW. I might go up and catch a Spurs game in the Ford Center this season. I wonder if they sell that 3.2 beer at sporting events?

You won't be the only Spurs fan in the house J-6...I have a buddy in Edmond who has already bought tickets! :)

December 18th and January 25th are the two OKC dates for Spurs/Hornets games. I'll be on a cruise the 18th, but I might try to get to that 1/25 game.

I think this is the first time in 30 years that a team has had 2 cities listed in it's team name. When the Cincinnati Royals moved their team in the 70s, the NBA experimented with dual homes with the Kansas City/Omaha Kings, but that didn't seem to work to well so they dropped Omaha after 3-4 yrs. and just called them the KC Kings. That was around the time KC built Kemper Arena.

Yeah, Houston shouldn't have supported the Texans these first 3 years because, I mean, they're the Texans and it makes them look really desperate. :rolleyes
