A North Carolina man was arrested Sunday after he walked into a popular pizza restaurant in Northwest Washington

carrying an assault rifle and fired one or more shots

, D.C. police said.

The man told police he had come to the restaurant to “self-investigate” a false election-related conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton that spread online during her presidential campaign.

The incident caused panic, with several businesses going into lockdown as police swarmed the neighborhood after receiving the call shortly before 3 p.m.

Police said 28-year-old Edgar Maddison Welch, of Salisbury, N.C., walked in the front door of Comet Ping Pong and pointed a firearm in the direction of a restaurant employee.

The employee was able to flee and notify police.

Police said Welch proceeded to discharge the rifle inside the restaurant; they think that all other occupants had fled when Welch began shooting.

North Carolina’s Congressman, Mark Meadows (R) also recognizes the scope of the crisis and put forward the Eliminating Pornography from Agencies Act (https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/5628). This law, if passed, would stop federal employees from accessing, watching or sharing pornography (http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2015/02/law-introduced-curb-porn-crisis-govt-agencies/) on government-issued computers and devices. Congressman Meadows introduced this 18 September 2014 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/5628/actions). To date, he has not one co-sponsor. Not one other member of Congress cares about this issue? Apparently not.

On 17 October 2014 he was sentenced to five years in federal prison in exchange for a guilty plea to one child porn count. O’Brien had download videos of the sex abuse of children as young as three years old. He had taken pictures of his granddaughter and placed images of her head over images of children being sexually abused. He also had pictures of Air Force employees transposed over sex abuse images.

Over forty images of a child previously identified by law enforcement were found on his laptop.

Bolden had accessed a Russian child porn website while at work from his work computer. A child porn CD was also found at his workplace desk.
• Gilbert Lam (http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?id=9028417), a 38 year old Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection agent who worked at San Francisco airport, was charged with child porn possession and distribution. • Robert Rennie (http://www.loudountimes.com/index.php/news/article/aldie_man_charged_with_sexually_soliciting_middle_ school_girls898), a 43 year old Homeland Security agent who worked in the National Protection and Programs Directorate, was charged with attempting to solicit sexual acts from more than seventy young girls using a fake Facebook account and pretending to be both a male student at a Virginia middle schools as well as a college student at George Mason University.
• An unnamed Homeland Security agent with Customs and Border Protection and Byungki Koo (http://www.propublica.org/article/federal-air-marshals-and-the-law) an Air Marshal were arrested for trafficking “young women” from South Korea in a sex-trafficking ring in Queens, New York.
National Children’s Museum

Lee said he had been downloading child porn for ten years. At the time of his arrest his computer had 111 videos and 116 images of child sex abuse. He also had a collection of “incest stories.”
Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS)

According Shaffer’s criminal complaint “a 1987 police report alleged Shaffer sexually molested a boy between the ages of 8 and 9. Transportation Security Agency (TSA)

As of this arrest April 2012, it was reported that a total of twelve child sex crimes in the previous sixteen months had been brought against TSA agents across America.

An investigator said “…the living room was loaded with electronics, storage devices, hard drives.” I couldn’t locate information on how much child porn he had or what it was depicting; however, given he was charged with twenty-five counts, one can assume he had a large amount of child sex abuse videos and images.
• Thomas Gordon (http://articles.philly.com/2011-04-23/news/29466700_1_tsa-spokeswoman-ann-davis-child-pornography-federal-agents%3E), a 46 year old TSA agent in Philadelphia, was sentenced for possession and distribution of child porn. He had over 600 images and videos of child sex abuse including children as young as six years old which were described as “horrific.” He had as many as six fake Facebook accounts he was using to distribute child porn.
• TSA hired 65 year old Thomas Harkin (http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2012/05/24/i-team-priest-removed-from-ministry-due-to-sex-abuse-allegations-works-at-phl/), a former Catholic priest who had been removed from the church for the sex abuse of an eleven year old girl, among possible other victims, to work at Philadelphia airport.
• TSA Agent, 38 year old Miguel Angel Quinones (http://patch.com/new-hampshire/londonderry/extsa-employee-facing-additional-child-porn-charges), who worked at Manchester airport in New Hampshire, was indicted on twenty counts of child porn possession. He had more than 1,000 child sex abuse images and videos. He kept his child porn in his airport work locker.

Blair was using his government computer to trade in child rape and torture, aka child pornography.
Corrections and Probation Officers

• Leon Perry Brookes (http://www.justice.gov/usao-mdfl/pr/former-jso-corrections-officer-indicted-receipt-distribution-and-possession-child), a 39 year old a Corrections Officer for Jacksonville (Florida) Sheriff’s Office was arrested for child porn possession and distribution. Among others, he had child sex abuse files called “pthc- freaky latin parents and 5yr daughter.mpg” and “video-8yr orgasm and anal fuck hard ! new ! (ptch) 2007 new girl img.
• Gerald Silva (http://www.justice.gov/usao/ri/news/2014/feb2014/silva.html), a 59 year old Rhode Island State Probation Officer, was convicted of child porn for his $1,589 USD purchase of 22 orders of child sex abuse from Azov Film’s website, spending a total of $1,589 on 75 different videos. He was caught by USPS Inspectors and Toronto Police investigation, Project Spade.

• Stuart Forrest, 62 year old Chief Probation Officer of San Mateo County, California, was sentenced for child porn possession that included the abuse of young bound boys. He had more than 400 images and videos of child sex abuse. This case was also part of Project Spade, run by the USPS and Toronto Police.
• Supervisor of Adult Probation and Parole and Sex Offender Unit in New Mexico, Larry Franco (http://www.abqjournal.com/102329/abqnewsseeker/updated-ex-parole-supervisor-expected-to-plead.html%3E), 56 years old, was charged two counts of fourth-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor by possession and one count of tampering with evidence. Leone was a Child Abuse Investigator with New York City Child Welfare Bureau before he became a parole officer.

The incidents TSA posted seem to have been investigated by the justice system - you can see a number of indictments / convictions / sentencing in there. Where is the evidence that people in government are getting away with this? The problem with the 4chan/TSA approach is that they list a series of facts, and then use whatever credibility they think they gain to make improbable, speculative claims about a number of other individuals. It's like me telling you a number of interesting and true things about outer space and then claiming that the moon landing was faked.

The politically driven manipulation of the State Department’s 2015 Trafficking In Persons (TIP) Report is an embarrassment for the Obama Administration that threatens to set back U.S. efforts against human trafficking around the world. For over 15 years, the report has helped encourage foreign governments to tackle human trafficking, if for no other reason than to avoid being named and shamed by the U.S. Now, according to whistleblowers within the State Department, the Administration has announced to the world that it will allow political considerations to trump real reform. President Obama and his Administration have set a dangerous precedent with this trafficking report that could lead countries to believe they can negotiate their way out of having their human trafficking abuses highlighted. This is a great disservice to the millions of people who have been victimized or are vulnerable to human traffickers.

The most glaring example is the politically driven improvement of Cuba from the “Tier 3” category to the “Tier 2 Watch List”. Since the State Department began evaluating Cuba in 2003, it has been placed on Tier 3 every year. Over the past year, Cuba has done almost nothing to combat human trafficking. In fact, while the 2015 trafficking report claims there were improvements in certain areas, Cuba still has not even bothered to create a single law that identifies labor trafficking as a crime. Additionally, the progress which was identified in convicting sex trafficking cases was minimal, an improvement of 3 cases in 2013. I appreciate every trafficker who faces the proper justice but I would not call an increase of 3 cases a major improvement and a major factor for an upgrade in tier ranking.

Another concerning aspect of Cuba’s upgrade, is that the information on Cuba’s efforts to combat trafficking came directly from the Cuban government, not from non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Independent NGOs are unable to operate in Cuba and therefore it is impossible for the U.S. government to assess the situation on the ground beyond reports from the Cuban government.

As the Obama Administration encourages increased tourism to Cuba, it should be noted that child sex trafficking and child sex tourism continue to plague Cuba. According to the 2015 report, Cubans between the ages of 13 and 20 are the most vulnerable to human trafficking within Cuba. A major investigation in recent years by The Toronto Star, in conjunction with The Miami Herald, highlighted a report by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which cited Cuba as the most popular destination in the Americas for child sex tourism — and the Americas’ most visited region for Canadians traveling abroad for sex with kids. The Administration’s unfounded elevation of Cuba on human trafficking sends a chilling message that the U.S., at least under this president, is more interested in headlines about its historic Cuba policy than it is in challenging the Castro regime to protect Cuba’s youth from human trafficking exploitation.

It is important that the TIP report remain a true reflection of the trafficking situation on the ground and that a country’s rating never be determined by political considerations but by the country’s true record on this issue. The decision to upgrade Cuba without substantial evidence of improvement is the worst form of politicization of an important anti-trafficking tool. Cuba is a human slave state.

In closing, I urge you to reconsider Cuba’s ranking. Also, I formally request all prior drafts of the Cuba portion of the 2015 TIP Report, the names of all State Department and White House officials who signed off on the Cuba section of the report, and a copy of the Cuban Government's national action plan to combat trafficking. Where “free-trade” policies have collapsed the legal and formal markets of local economies, illicit and informal markets will fill the economic void as a necessity of human survival. Weapons, narcotics, endangered plants and wildlife, humans, and other illicitly traded commodities are advantageous to developing economies because regulated, domestic exports (such as auto parts, factory garments or agricultural crops) have been devalued to the point they are no longer competitive on the global market. Illicit markets are the natural comparative advantage (http://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/?GCOI=80140100741940) for sustaining local livelihoods, and this is apparent in the homelands of border youth and children.



Criminal gangs often establish the supply niches for these illicit markets. Some are highly organized and violent cartels but most are loosely based. Youth and children trafficked for gang soldiering and/or drug mules are an increased concern in the present context. Returning minors at the border to their homelands subjects them to these risks of human trafficking. Returning border youth to documented violence in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador is another significant U.S. violation of international law. In the modern era, “forced” and “willing migration” (http://www.palgrave.com/page/detail/refugees-in-a-global-era-mr-philip-marfleet/?K=9780333777831) are almost never clearly defined categories, but U.S. immigration policies typically insist upon the later. This undermines the human rights of fleeing children – who are still owed due legal process regardless of whether they are undocumented.

Still, the U.S. continues to ignore the realities Central American youth and children are faced with as a result of its aggravating (often illegal) involvement there.



Research overwhelmingly shows increased border militarization is an ineffective, inhumane solution for stopping migrant flows (https://paradigm.presswarehouse.com/books/BookDetail.aspx?productID=280263) everywhere in the world. The current solution to quell youth flooding the border is a request for emergency funds from Congress. The funding would provide badly needed health and human resources for fleeing Central American youth. However, more than half of the requested $3.7 billion (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/07/08/fact-sheet-emergency-supplemental-request-address-increase-child-and-adu) will fund an impressive boost in U.S. border patrols, surveillance, expedited immigration courts and anti-immigration campaigns – all proven to be inadequate controls in the long term. Completely open borders would not be sustainable without addressing root causes either. Nevertheless, two billion dollars toward creating fair-trade markets and formal employment opportunities in Central America (rather than creating more U.S. border military jobs) would be more likely to have a lasting effect on stabilizing the region.



“Border Children” is a one-dimensional label. Perhaps necessary for categorical references, it is critical to remember that each one of these migrant youth is an individual human being. Their futures need to be considered valuable to our world and they must be supported as whole people with equal human rights.

The articles claiming to have FBI sources and NYPD officials confirming a pedophile sex ring involving the Clintons fueled a lot of this and can be fairly categorized as fake news.

I disagree on those articles fueling a lot of this but have no problem labeling those fake news. The thought that Hillary Clinton could be linked to child trafficking was fueled by an email about Laura Silsby found before those articles/tweets came out. The fact that Hillary Clinton went in person to Haiti and helped facilitate the release of a charged child trafficker is what fueled these claims.

William Engdahl, an author and lecturer with a degree in politics from Princeton suggests in this revealing article that this may explain why we will not be reading about the “murky dealings” of The Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation in Haiti from the New York Times; “formerly America’s most respected newspaper of record.” According to Haiti activist Ezili Dantò: “The Clintons have used governmental power to conduct their private business and called it ‘helping poor Haitians.’”
Hillary Clinton should get far more scrutiny for her scandalous conduct in Haiti; from rigging the March 2011 presidential election for her favored candidate Michel “Sweet Mickey” Martelly (supporter of the CIA created death squad FRAPH) to insuring that her brother Tony Rodham and “a company that barely exists.” got a “sweetheart gold mine concession in Haiti” that “royally cheated” the state of Haiti.

You won’t hear about it in sound bites of coverage on the evening news, but every American should understand these seven facts about the 63,000 kids that “showed up in the backyard” (http://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-border-unaccompanied-children) and need their plight acknowledged.


Illicit markets thrive where licit markets have been destroyed. Despite the façade of “free-trade” in Central America (http://www.usleap.org/central-america-free-trade-agreement-cafta) (or anywhere, for that matter), international trade is far from free flowing. Economic development policies (http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=376) between countries of the global North and South have favored Northern profits and the United States for decades. This has resulted in massive inequality of worldwide wealth and acute global poverty. Many Latin American economies attest to this. Where “free-trade” policies have collapsed the legal and formal markets of local economies, illicit and informal markets will fill the economic void as a necessity of human survival. Weapons, narcotics, endangered plants and wildlife, humans, and other illicitly traded commodities are advantageous to developing economies because regulated, domestic exports (such as auto parts, factory garments or agricultural crops) have been devalued to the point they are no longer competitive on the global market. Illicit markets are the natural comparative advantage (http://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/?GCOI=80140100741940) for sustaining local livelihoods, and this is apparent in the homelands of border youth and children.



Criminal gangs often establish the supply niches for these illicit markets. Some are highly organized and violent cartels but most are loosely based. Minors in Central American conflict zones are at a higher risk for various types of child trafficking. Youth and children trafficked for gang soldiering and/or drug mules are an increased concern in the present context. Returning minors at the border to their homelands subjects them to these risks of human trafficking. (http://www.verite.org/vision/july2014/fromthefield) Individuals caught in repeated cycles of fleeing and trafficking are common when violence and poverty occur together, making repatriation to these regions an unsustainable solution.



Hasty deportations of unaccompanied Central American minors violate international children’s rights.The United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (http://www.ohchr.org/en/professionalinterest/pages/crc.aspx) outlines these child-specific rights and legal protections for anyone under the age of eighteen. Further, the current position of Congress and the Obama administration – to overhaul the 2008 Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act and deny fair trials (http://humantraffickingcenter.org/posts-by-htc-associates/unraveling-immigration-crisis/)that recognize refugee, asylee and trafficking victim statuses – is unacceptable for a nation claiming to lead the global fight against trafficking in persons.



The international principle of non-refoulment is being disregarded by the United States government. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees defines “non-refoulment” (https://www.unodc.org/documents/human-trafficking/Toolkit-files/08-58296_tool_7-9.pdf) as the obligation of states to allow territorial access to refugees and asylees seeking safety from life threatening risks in their countries of origin. Returning border youth to documented violence in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador is another significant U.S. violation of international law. In the modern era, “forced” and “willing migration” (http://www.palgrave.com/page/detail/refugees-in-a-global-era-mr-philip-marfleet/?K=9780333777831) are almost never clearly defined categories, but U.S. immigration policies typically insist upon the later. This undermines the human rights of fleeing children – who are still owed due legal process regardless of whether they are undocumented.



The U.S. has a sixty-year history of provoking regional instability in Central America. The complexity of this has included crippling Cold War policies, CIA backed coups, civil wars instigated and funded by the U.S. government, (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/18/refugee-crisis-border_n_5596125.html) and the infamously chaotic War on Drugs (http://www.globalresearch.ca/americas-war-on-drugs-has-triggered-a-humanitarian-crisis-in-central-american-children-converging-at-the-us-border/5390491). Gangs have flourished as a result of the illicit market niches created by sixty years of political-economic strife, and present levels of violence in these countries are deeply rooted in this historic trauma. Still, the U.S. continues to ignore the realities Central American youth and children are faced with as a result of its aggravating (often illegal) involvement there.



Research overwhelmingly shows increased border militarization is an ineffective, inhumane solution for stopping migrant flows (https://paradigm.presswarehouse.com/books/BookDetail.aspx?productID=280263) everywhere in the world. The current solution to quell youth flooding the border is a request for emergency funds from Congress. The funding would provide badly needed health and human resources for fleeing Central American youth. However, more than half of the requested $3.7 billion (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/07/08/fact-sheet-emergency-supplemental-request-address-increase-child-and-adu) will fund an impressive boost in U.S. border patrols, surveillance, expedited immigration courts and anti-immigration campaigns – all proven to be inadequate controls in the long term. Completely open borders would not be sustainable without addressing root causes either. Nevertheless, two billion dollars toward creating fair-trade markets and formal employment opportunities in Central America (rather than creating more U.S. border military jobs) would be more likely to have a lasting effect on stabilizing the region.



“Border Children” is a one-dimensional label. Perhaps necessary for categorical references, it is critical to remember that each one of these migrant youth is an individual human being. They represent diverse identities (http://www.unhcrwashington.org/sites/default/files/1_UAC_Children%20on%20the%20Run_Full%20Report.pdf) , experiences, resistances and courage in their individual life journeys. Their futures need to be considered valuable to our world and they must be supported as whole people with equal human rights.

That’s a big statement for U.S. leadership to continue neglecting. Awareness of the tremendous underpinnings of the current border crisis is a vital first step for the American public to take. Without citizen demands for policy reforms – of both a broken immigration system and flawed model (http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=376) of international development – it is unlikely the entrenched roots of Central American oppression will shift within U.S. bureaucracy. The youth at the border are merely one casualty of this.

The Macau Connection--II

MACAU--In a self-published biography, Macau businessman and legislator Chen Kai-kit brags that many international figures have paid him tribute, including President Clinton, who "presented Mr. Chen with a signed photograph."

Indeed, local reporters here say that the photograph of Mr. Chen with the president was featured prominently in television advertisements during Mr. Chen's successful 1996 campaign for a seat in the Macau legislature. In a story about the presidential encounter that appeared in the Macau Daily, Beijing's semi-official mouthpiece in the enclave, Mr. Chen was quoted as saying that Mr. Clinton was "very concerned" about Macau. Mr. Chen, who also uses the name Chio Ho Cheung, declined to make himself available for an interview for this article.


Mr. Chen's claims about his connections with the president, however, are unimpeachable. He sat at the head table with Mr. Clinton at a dinner at Washington's Sheraton Carlton Hotel on May 13, 1996. Also at the head table was Mr. Chen's business partner, Elsie Chan, a former starlet. "This is a fundraising dinner for the Democratic National Committee," notes a briefing memo for then DNC Chairman Don Fowler "The attendees are some of the top supporters of the President and the Democratic Party from the Asian-American community." A partial guest list for the event, forwarded by a Lippo Group operative to DNC fund-raiser John Huang, identified Mr. Chen and Ms. Chan as the president and managing director, respectively, of the Ang-Du International Corp. Also at the head table were Charlie Trie and Ted Sioeng, familiar names in the campaign finance scandal.


The president's ties with Macau are not merely the matter of his Little Rock friend Charlie Trie and the mysterious Ng Lap Seng, detailed in Thursday's article (http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB888439204883313500.djm) . There are also Mr. Chen and Ms. Chan. In addition, Wong Sing-wa, another controversial businessman, is reported to have a photograph of himself with the president--and as the photo nearby testifies, he clearly visited the White House in the company of Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho and others. For that matter, Mr. Ho's Seng Heng Bank of Macau was previously owned by a partnership between Mochtar Riady's Lippo Group and Stephens Inc. of Little Rock.
Speck of SoilThis set of connections is amazing given the obscurity of this speck of Portuguese soil set to revert to China in 1999. Across the mouth of the Pearl River from Hong Kong, Macau maintains a casino economy and is in the midst of "triad wars," with Chinese organized crime gangs fighting for control of loan-sharking, prostitution and extortion rackets. An example of local flavor: With triad gunmen fighting it out on the streets last year, Macau's senior security minister sought to reassure the jittery tourism market with the odd claim the attacks were simply the work of "professional killers who never miss their targets."


The career of Chen Kai-kit is a local success story, though one marked by controversy. His election to the 23-person legislature was marred by allegations that he benefited not only from the president's photograph, but also from the support of the 14K Triad at 1,500 Hong Kong dollars (US$195) a vote. Mr. Chen vigorously denied the stories, and a Macau government probe found no evidence to support the charges.


President Clinton's table mate at the Sheraton Carlton built his business career on the success of the Thai Palace, a "no-hands" restaurant. In such establishments, naked waitresses hand-feed patrons, leaving the hands of paying customers unencumbered for other pursuits. (Prostitution is legal in Macau.) Mr. Chen is also said to have business interests in organized gambling junkets. Local triads often prey on hard-up gamblers, engaging in loan sharking, and in kidnapping and extortion when the gamblers don't pay up. Here in Macau, Mr. Chen is called "Thai Chen," for both his restaurant and his roots in Thailand. With the success of the Thai Palace, Mr. Chen expanded into other "entertainment" facilities, as well as exporting wooden doors and latex gloves. He made a fortune, his biography says, by foreseeing "a huge demand for latex gloves caused by the widespread fear of AIDS in Europe and the United States."



Ang-Du International, which Mr. Chen and Ms. Chan head, also operates in Thailand. One of its functions, local sources say, is supplying Macau with Thai women. Ms. Chan herself is a minor celebrity in the region. In 1986, she won the Miss Peace prize in the Miss Asia beauty contest. She made a mark in the Hong Kong television and film industry, and is credited with establishing a trend toward full-bodied women in the local entertainment media. After her star began to fade, she told a Hong Kong entertainment magazine, she quit the business to become a manager in an unnamed international business firm in Macau--presumably Mr. Chen's. Ms. Chan described the firm's work as mostly in fashion, tourism, cigarettes and construction material. Her specialty, she said, was "personnel." Ms. Chan's office said she was not available for an interview for this article.



Wong Sing-wa--according to local sources a partner with Mr. Chen and others in a new casino in Macau's Mandarin Hotel--operates a travel agency. In particular he issues visas for North Korea and is Pyongyang's honorary consul in Macau. Mr. Ho is managing director of the Sociedade de Turismo e Diverser&otilde;es de Macau, which has held an exclusive franchise for Macau gambling since 1962, and which licenses individual casinos. The STDM dominates the local economy, supplying the Macau government about $600 million a year, or roughly half its budget. Mr. Chen took out newspaper ads in Macau and Hong Kong, featuring himself in a photograph with Rep. Esteban Torres (D., Calif.). In February 1994 the U.S. Information Service in Hong Kong issued a press release authorized by Rep. Torres. It said the U.S. counsul general in Hong Kong had asked Mr. Chen "to stop identifying himself as a 'Congressional Special Advisor.' " It said that Mr. Chen had inquired about being designated a special adviser, and Rep. Torres responded that congressional rules do not permit it. If the bar for criminal cases would be that low, OJ Simpson and Zimmerman would probably been found guilty...
