This election cycle was such an aberration on so many levels. Conventional wisdom and projections didn't stand a chance.

Just heard a good line. Trumps a flawed messenger but people are still voting the message.

Seriously? 2018 is the democrat incumbents turn to have to run for reelection. Like a 4 to 1 ratio.

The major warning to the democrats should have been when Bernie Sanders, who had no business even being competitive with Hillary, won 23 contests.

Yep. If trump wins, factoring in how gerrymandered the house is, we're looking at 4 years of republican control of the house, senate and presidency. Not to mention Trump will be nominating federal justices with little opposition.

the message is a lie.

The revolting Repug base is so fucking stupid, so ignorant to think Trash would do ANYTHING to help them financially.

The Repugs, per their platform, will cut welfare for 10Ms of white people in the Repug base who voted for this disaster.

Turns out none of the polls modeled white turnout properly. None of the models were right. This is basically Dewey defeats Truman territory.

Don't know what to think right now. Trump will have a GOP congress and full ability to do what he wants. This is definitely a scary time for America. This country will regret this decision.

This is way bigger than Dewey defeats Truman, there was so much less polling back then. In the end Michael Moore was right, he kept saying Trump would win.

Michael Moore was the only prominent liberal I saw who really got it in this election.

I mean, look, John Oliver, Samantha Bee, everybody who criticized Trump's buffoonery were perfectly justified in doing so. He's a clown.

But the media really whiffed on understanding rural America's motivations for rolling the dice with a buffoon instead of going along with the status quo. The idea that they're all racist/misogynist/stupid just shows what an echo chamber the media is in. It's inexcusable.

i just shrugged

they are, and they found a racist, bigot, misogynist, ignorant, stupid asshole to vote for.

But they will all be disappointed when the Repugs do nothing for any of them, while cutting their welfare.

For sure. I just think that aspect is played up at a hyperbolic pitch. At some point those people get tired of being called racist and double down on the racism.

Think she will be able to?

This loss might have given her a massive stroke!
