Not if he passes to Kawhi. Leonard is chucking bad shots hoping for a foul.

Kawhi's effective field-goal percent age is 51.7. That puts him at 158 in the league and third on the team. He's dependent on whistles right now, though he's still only 49th in the league in free-throw rate. That combines to give him a true shooting percentage of 62.1, which is 66th in the league. However, that would be a top-three Spurs mark in recent years.

Kawhi's the best scorer on the team and should get plenty of shots, but he's not nearly efficient enough to base an offense around. The problem again isn't with quantity of touches but with quality. If he's not shooting at an elite rate or getting a ton of FTAs, the team grinds to a halt, just as it did for Parker during the iso era. But get him the ball in places where there's already a lot of movement, and more guys are open, which makes his job easier in turn.

Using the total league RAW eFG@ and TS% without using USAGE OR SHOTS TAKEN is very fucking misleading. :lmao

Someone mentioned getting Kawhi into the Zipper series. That's a good idea, but it wouldn't work. The Zipper sets leveraged Tony's gravity along with is elite speed (for newer Spurs fans, there was a time where Tony was in tremendous shape and would run his match-up to death). Kawhi doesn't outspeed his guard. He has supreme skill and power. That probably works the best in the high-post/triple-threat position. Get him curls and pin-downs in that area, and you problem get some more pressure on the defense, and it would likely free up multiple bigs. Also, having him run in the Zipper series takes away a front-court screener, which makes it harder for Kawhi to get separation. Of course, running that into a post-up would probably work.

Kawhi has the 5th highest USG% in the league 33.4 and two of the four in front of him are guards (Westbrook 42.6 and Harden 33.6) :wow

Yeah you can definitely make the argument that if Kawhi would shoot less, his TS% would go up, and if the other players on the Spurs shot more regularly, their TS% would also go up. The good news is that David Lee is leading the team in TS% with a mark of 65.8, so 62.1 seems like something that multiple role-players could shoot if given the ball in positions that work. We just have to hope Pop can get more people going, or else the Spurs are going to suffer from the same offensive issues they had against the Clippers in 2015 and OKC last summer.
