He did settle for long pull-ups, which was more than half the battle, nor did he try to force things inside. Best thing is that he's using his floater over PGs in the same way a big would use a hook. So rather than trying to get the ball up before someone can rotate, he's taking the bump from his guard and then floating it over them. That type of play should be there for the rest of his career, and it's a perfect way for him to continue to be a threat in the paint.

Manu made some big shots, which gives me hope he can still be a rotation player in the playoffs. LMA with another double-double despite not looking too great on O. Pau with a second straight game threatening a triple-double.

Kawhi didn't force things as much and wasn't the designated perimeter defender, and that helped him be more effective on both ends. That's going to be the key to having him at his best each night. He's not along on either side of the ball, and getting everyone to play like that will keep him fresh and keep the team in rhythm.

when gasol is playing, especially with aldridge...the spurs get killed on defenses (especially transition), they constantly are in mismatches and especially now that pop is switching everything on pick and rolls. Those two plus a slowing down parker and a danny green that can't dribble are the reason why going back to even last season the spurs starts are always losing the game by a couple of points then the bench unit brings us back.

Kawhi didn't force things as much and wasn't the designated perimeter defender, and that helped him be more effective on both ends. That's going to be the key to having him at his best each night. He's not along on either side of the ball, and getting everyone to play like that will keep him fresh and keep the team in rhythm.

this isnt true - its 100 about matchup of others in the scoring column. And if/when KL masters getting to the rim and drawing fouls consistently and at the right moment, it wont nearly be as necessary to be dependent upon that matchup.
