Intel K-Series i3 Kaby Lake CPU has been listed online, featuring a 4GHz base clock and support for overclocking, making this the first officially overclockable Intel i3 CPU.

This new CPU is called the Intel i3 7350K, which is listed at a price of $177 and will come with two CPU cores with hyperthreading. With a boost clock of 4.2GHz this will be the fastest i3 CPU on the market, making it perfect for most general desktop applications and workloads which require a few strong CPU cores.

Intel has not officially confirmed that they will be releasing an overclockable core i3 7350K, but it certainly would be an interesting move from the company. It is likely that this overclockable i3 CPU will be launched in response to AMD's upcoming Zen-based CPUs, solidifying the companies grip on the lower end market.

Who the fuck would ever want to pay $177 for an i3?

Seriously, you could get an i5 on sale for close to that.

an overclocked i3 at 4.0 GHZ would destroy anything AMD throws at it. Good price/power ratio

The i3-6100 is already almost there at 3.7 GHz stock, and costs $105. Plus if you use an old BIOS on AsRock, MSI, or Asus Z170 boards you can overclock that bitch to 4.5 GHz easily by upping the base clock. Kaby Lake seems like it's nothing but a price increase vs Skylake.
