We'll beat the Suns with or without Amare. He was healthy for last years playoffs, wasn't he? Can you remind me how that went?

So there's no MRI results yet or anything?

That would suck if he's out for an extended period.

I hope he is relatively healthy, and doesn't miss too much time.

guess he'll need to invest some of his $100mil into a knee brace.

Not yet, that i've heard of.. Just getting info on it, but he missed practice yesterday because of the knee. So something has gotten worse in it.

Well despite his pushups, I think he's a good guy and I wouldn't wish injury on anyone. Hopefully it's no big deal.

He didn't injure it in practice or i haven't heard if he did. It's been bothering him all summer and he was riding the bike yesterday. Hopefully it's just some loose cartiliage and they can scope it.

BFD!!!
Spurs don't give a rat's ass about other team's injuries. They play the same way...Like a freight train they just roll along doing what they do.

Man, nice timing on signing that extension, huh?

Sorry for the guys making fun. They'd go apoplectic if people from other teams made jokes when Duncan got hurt.

Why would we rejoice over the injury over another team's injuries??

I hate it when another team's players get hurt.

Its just built in excuses.

okay people get over yourself Amare was only sitting out for one morning practice because his knee was SORE! don't over react to something so little! don't worry he'll be there this season to block Duncan a few times! ;)

Well hopefully it's only one practice. I'm sure a lot of Suns fans freaked when they heard Colangelo say the word "surgery".

Amaré Stoudemire raised a few reporters’ eyebrows when he sat out of Thursday morning’s drills, but the Suns’ coach said there was nothing to worry about. Just a little inflammation.

“He has a sore knee,” said D’Antoni. “I’m not sure which one. It’s either his right one or his left one, if I’m not mistaken (laughs).”

The Suns’ All-Star returned to action during the evening workout, and his hopeful that he’ll be able to play in Saturday’s public scrimmage.

“I can’t sit out, man. I love basketball too much,” he said. “It’s tough to sit out and watch those guys go out there and play their hearts out.”

directly from Suns.com people!! doesn't sound to serious to me??????

Hopefully Amare makes a full recovery ASAP. Amare, if he dedicates himself to the game, will be a top three player before too long.

We aren't worried about him. Your GM is.

The team's medical staff planned to meet later tonight to decide the next step for Stoudemire.

"We're going through the evaluation process and we're going to make sure we have all the information before a determination is made to pursue treatment, possible surgery (and) what the safest and best return is for him to come back to basketball," Suns President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo said.

That's actually quite a compliment - so long as you're talking about pre-coke Shawn Kemp. Kemp was an incredible player.

Stoudemire out with knee injury

TUCSON - Amaré Stoudemire is out for an indeterminate amount of time and could be facing surgery because of the left knee that has been troubling him this summer.

A Tucson specialist examined Stoudemire's knee today after Stoudemire practiced at the morning session. He did not return for the evening practice but remains at the team hotel.

I hope he gets well very soon..The fact that people think we would be happy another player is injured is insane. The only person any of us would be somewhat happy if they were out, and again just in fun would be Shaq, or Kobe..Old hatred goes away very slowly.Amare is not on the same level as those two douchebags..Again, hope he gets well soon so there is NO EXCUSE whatsoever as to why we kicked the Suns ass all over the desert southwest:spin

I couldn't agree more. Hell, that chicken-fried owner of theirs (Sarver) even tried to "drum up" excuses last year as to why the Sun couldn't win -mainly officiating.

There's conflicting reports from just about every media type in ther Phoenix area.

One has just a sore knee (Suns.com), the other, that he's facing possible surgery (Republic) and the last that he's got a slight cartilage tear that will require him to miss 4-6 weeks (News 10).

Which one is correct? Who the eff knows?

He needs to shut 'er down for a few weeks. Comeback the last week of Preseason and try and get back into the sprint condition required of him.

Obviously if he needs surgery, this is a given, but I guess it just shows what type of fan you are, which report you choose to run with.

I'm an optimistic realist who trusts Suns.com reports, but still sees the benefits of Amare just resting it for two weeks.

I hope Amare gets well and the Suns play him, because otherwise we'd have to hear Peter Holt call them chickens again. I hate how he always does that.

^ At what point does the pettiness towards another's pettiness, be deemed petty?

Sarvar has already said he was an idiot for it. I thought so as well, but Spurs fans have other things to keep hold of (like the trophies) and are too good for this constant bashing.

Stoudemire sidelined by knee problem
TUCSON (AP) — Phoenix Suns star Amare Stoudemire saw the team doctor Friday because of pain in his troublesome left knee. Stoudemire has been trying to play through the discomfort at training camp by resting in the morning and practicing in the afternoon after heat treatments.
On Friday, he did little at the morning practice and skipped the next session to consult with Dr. Tom Carter.

Team president and general manager Bryan Colangelo said the possibilities ranged from Stoudemire continuing to play to "diagnostic surgery."

"We have no information at this time with respect to a direction with regard to Amare's knee," Colangelo said. "We are continuing the evaluation process and trying to determine the best course of action."

Coach Mike D'Antoni was hoping for the best.

"It could be what we thought, and it could be a little bit more," D'Antoni said.

Stoudemire, a 6-foot-10 power forward who played center for the Suns last season and still averaged 26 points a game and 29.9 points in the postseason, signed a five-year, $73 million contract extension on Monday.

The No. 9 pick in the 2002 draft out of a Florida high school, Stoudemire won the 2003 Rookie of the Year award and has refined his game each season. He received his first All-Star berth last season and earned second-team All-NBA recognition.

They bash the mavs even more than the suns.

As long as Mark Cuban launches verbal scuds at Spurs fans, he's going to take heat from Spurs fans for his foibles -- like calling the Spurs to complain when the Coyote offered him a pacifier, but having no remorse for a Mavs' video that took aim at several Kings; like calling Spurs fans classless and the worst in the NBA.

Sarver made a mistake and admitted that he did -- I have nothing against him.

Cuban, though, just doesn't know when to stop.

take care of it now and get it out of the way. He's going to be a great player and there is no reason to push it during training camp.
