View Full Version : Can Dedmon develop into the New Tiago Splitter and reach Peak Splitter or better?

- He's already the best defensive big and the third best defensive player for San Antonio.
- Amazing at keeping up with guards and contesting perimeter shots.
- He's a nice rollman who can finish with more toughness than splitter. So the roll gravity is there.
- He's never going to be the passer tiago was off the roll, but just being able to finish lob dunks makes him a valuable offensive player in a PNR heavy offense. Kinda like Deandre..a very important offensive peace for LA..cant pass, but his pull in the roll is enough to get Reddick etc some open shots.

Nah. He won't be as good as Peak Tiago. Tiago was the best defender on the team in his prime.

And Tiago was an elite roller to the rim, can't see Dedmon being as good in that department.

Splitter was GOD mode in 2014 1st and 2nd round playoffs. Too bad he was a vagina.

Dedmon's games played to injury ratio is about the same as Splitter's so far.

The only thing they have in common is that Pop also hated playing Tiago until he absolutely had to, tbh:lol

Peak Splitter got blocked by guards, Dedmon gets blocked by the rim. He's close tbh.

Let just add that that was his entire peak. 2 series. Tiago will always be the better RS player too.

Dedmon is more like Tristan Thompson on offense except he gets blocked by the rim.:lol

Dedmon's hands are not as good as Splitters'. His finishing at the rim hasn't been the best either (plenty of missed dunks). He is more athletic though.

Worse, but peak Splitter, though underrated by non Spurs fans, was always overrated by newer Spurs fans. Only a biased hypocrite would repeatedly cite and trumpet certain stats that suggest Anderson is a good defender, then ignore the fact that those same stats never suggested Splitter was the "best defender on the team".

Only time will tell, I hope he becomes better than splitter. He's got the tools as far as being mobile and athletic. Hopefully pop will get over that tweet thing and give him some burn. He looked great out there at times
