His church is so far buried I thought it apt to start a new one, plus a lot of indigenous Australians have a Dreamtime as their faith, so I think that works too.

He is having a great year and isn't getting enough props around here.

he is the man.

Him and Green have been on point this season, makes the Spurs dangerous going forward if our two best sharpshooters are on their game. Contract year Mills ftw

To be fair, I researched the religion after benfti posted the thread, lol. I had never heard of Dreamtime so we are both winners of the learning award today!

I'm betting Patty will be gone next year? He may not be good enough to be a starter on Pop's team, but he could start for a number of NBA teams. Just look at his Aussie teammate Delly making the big bucks.

I'm starting to think that he stays and maybe even starts next season with Parker moving to the bench or he stays in the same role but plays more minutes, he is already playing 23.5 MPG off the bench (granted with some starts with Parker missing time)

I am not sure Patty won't be resigned TBH. But it is major speculation on what the market is going to be in FA. The Spurs have been able to retain players they want to retain... but they won't be able to retain and resign everyone that is going to be a FA in their list next season, so they will have to prioritize.

Just got to enjoy his play this season.:toast

I never thought Mills wouldn't be re-signed (virtually all the reasons both sides wanted to get a deal done with Green apply in this case too) and if/when, I expect him to continue on in the same role.

Aside from every Olympics, and the 2014 Finals, Patty has never played better. Great to see him thriving! :toast

(PS I'm from Canberra but never thought I'd see a Canberra lad in the NBA, let alone killing it for the Spurs. I smile every time I think of this. :D )

Patty gonna give Spurs a nice discount like Green so that he stays on the team, tbh.

I'll support him if he stays or leaves...He has been a great teammate, player and Spur.

Patty is easy to support! His love of the team is very evident. It would be a serious loss to see him go somewhere else. I think the Spurs will do their damnedest to keep him!

This is Patty's last year though tbh.Are you sure, what do you think is happening in FA? His statements about wanting to start were telling for me, though ppl dismiss that. I am unsure overall, with Manu likely retiring, I do think Spurs prioritize him, but hard to tell overall. Once Manu retires and depending on the postseason they may go a different direction, but I do think they resign him.

They might be unable to keep others though.

Sounds like he's planning on being elsewhere, sadly, next year. Kind of has the same kind of comments that Bellinelli had two seasons ago...out for some money.

And Parker still is on the books for roughly 17 million next year. His contract hurts so bad.

I absolutely think he wants to stay, he said thiscto David Aldridge on NBA.com

Me: You invited the entire Australian team to Uluru before the Olympics to help with team building. Did you try to do anything similar before this season with the Spurs?
PM: Not to the extent. But we’ve done multiple things to try and keep us, I guess, on that same page. But that’s what it’s become for me, the Spurs’ organization. It’s become, what it means for me to play for Australia, it’s become the same thing for me with the Spurs. Understanding what it means to be a San Antonio Spur, understanding what it means to play for the name on the front of your jersey. I’ve grown a lot in my time in San Antonio, both on and off the court, and probably off the court most importantly. And that’s why I carry myself the way that I do for this organization

Biggest change I have seen in his game is the improved ball handling, it's allowing him to get to different spots on the court than previously.

patty is playing great.

if he starts and gets more minutes than parker like he should be, he'll be a candidate for MIP.
