He had his own game. This one is Ellie's. I could be way off, but I only really see Joel as a playable character very early on as kind of a "passing the torch" type gesture for the fans.

There's a legitimate reason why Joel is featured so little in these trailers, and it isn't because he's dead. Naughty Dog has said that if the first game was about Joel's love for Ellie, this one is about hate. I have a feeling Joel isn't going to be very likable this time around, at least through the eyes of Ellie.

Well maybe I don't know all of the leaks then. I did watch a couple of the cutscenes.

As for the employee, he reportedly was in some kind of payment dispute with ND. There were already numerous reports about their shitty culture, how badly they treated their developers, people quitting left and right, etc. They're going to have to do some serious damage control and restructuring after this to stay relevant.

The videos/screenshots have February and March timestamps... if that makes a difference.

I caved and read the leaks. It's odd. It doesn't "feel" like a TLOU story. It's almost as if they wrote it for two other characters and decided at the last minute to make them Joel and Ellie, but I know that isn't what they did. I'm really hoping that there is enough missing context and small details that flesh it out into something worthy of the series.

More often than not, yes. A lot of bad press was out there for Rockstar and CD Projekt Red, but Naughty Dog's level of crunch is legendary apparently. When Jonathan Cooper quit, he tweeted and bunch of shit about developers being hospitalized from exhaustion, ND threatening to withhold his last paycheck if he discussed their level of OT with anyone, and their inability to hire experienced developers due to their reputation.

yeah... that was in the PS3 days. i remember because that was the time period where i primarily just played COD online, so that was no fun. their apology included the ability to download 2 games off a list of 7-8 games or so. i remember thats how i got around to playing Infamous, which was one of the great games of that console (and led me to buying Infamous 2)

i always played good my first playthrough... partially because of preference and also because that tends to be canon. evil was more destructive but i enjoyed being able to recharge energy just by landing regular bolts. i dont remember that was in infamous 1 or specific to infamous 2

Without giving too much away... that muscular chick from the Paris games week trailer a few years ago plays a pretty big role in the game. There is nothing in the leaks to suggest it, but people are whining and just assuming that she's a tranny. Ellie's relationship with another chick is also a big part of the game.

Beyond that there are some concerns about the story/narrative choices, but nothing that's going to keep me from playing without knowing the context of everything. The game is most likely going to be divisive though, people are either going to hate it, or they're going to praise it for being ballsy and taking huge risks.

Meh it's $10. If you like it buy the sequel Yakuza Kiwami for $5 or $10 when it goes on sale. And just keep picking the games off cheap as you go on if you enjoy them. I paid $60 three times: once for Persona 5, once for Red Dead Redemption 2, and once for Persona 5 Royal. Though for both versions of Persona 5 I exploited Gamestop trade-in deals. Eg for P5 I used these two promotions they were running at the same time to trade in Nioh for $100 in PS Store credit. Then for P5R I used a pre-order trade-in bonus deal to dump a few old old Wii, PS3, and 360 games that were sitting on my shelf to get it for free. Though it was $65 trade-in value. So the only time I have actually paid full price in cash for a PS4 game was RDR2 because I wanted it at launch.

It's easy to run and you can lock to 60 fps without the frame pacing issues the consoles have by turning VSync on and putting a frame limiter to 60 on through the driver. You can actually run the game at 1080p 60 fps on an RX 570 that costs $80 used.

A lot of the complaints about the PC port are not being able to play it at 120 fps and above since it has a 60 fps cap.

I did three playthroughs of P5 because I wanted the platinum and that's how many it took to get it. As for P5R, I'm doing a second playthrough to do the bossfights that weren't available in the first playthrough.

I wouldn't trust Yuuta's classes, he pushes them hard but I have never heard of anyone learning the language from his site. Better to just watch Japanese TV, play Japanese games, and read Japanese, supplementing with a textbook to flesh out grammar (currently on Genki II, getting ready to start 上級へのとびら). Don't try to learn Japanese unless you're willing to put 2 hours a day for a few years in though, it's fucking difficult in so many ways. The state department considers it the most difficult language for a native English speaker to learn.

For instance, kanji is a mess. Japan just basically stapled China's writing system onto their own spoken language, and since kanji almost always represent ideas and not pronunciations, you get kanji that can be said tons of different ways. Eg like 生 which kind of means life (a lot of the time) can be pronounced as sei in 先生＝sensei = expert, as jou in 誕生日 = tanjoubi = birthday, as i in 生きる = ikiru = to live, nama in 生 = nama = raw, u in 生まれる = umareru = to be born, ha in 生える = haeru = to grow, and so on. While in Chinese dialects those symbols usually have only one or two pronunciations. Then there are no spaces in between words. You only get spaces after punctuation. And you have to speak indirectly, it's a mess... like you wouldn't ask people "where's the bathroom", you have to say it "I want to go to a bathroom but ..."

At least its pronunciation is a lot easier than Chinese or Vietnamese though since you don't have tones.

I will say there's a huge chance you'll hate sekiro combat since judging from your past when you were playing bloodborne...you loved dodging all the time with consistent butt pokes. Sekiro dodging is very situational and no such thing as butt pokes in this game.
