Sager knew when to shut up, but wasn't boring. Loss of nba guys talk, but don't say anything, and the other sideline reporters that take those dumb in game interviews take them too seriously.

Yeah sometimes I can't believe it when a coach actually gives a detailed answer. It's like pop conditioned me to just watch the fucking game and not rely on words. Sager would just take it stride and be like ok there you go folks. Now it's some glorified porn star or a wannabe reporter getting the facts for the people's. Whatever, it's supposed to be entertainment and that's what sager brought.

Sager is one of the most entertaining and polished sportscasters in the industry. I am so glad TNT allowed him to do a final's game for ABC this past June. RIP Mr. Sager. Condolences to your family.

Think the appreciation for Sager around the association is genuine and about more than just his flashy suits. Those guys, players and coaches, respected that guy, likely because he respected them. Not the greatest journalist, but he was definitely a guy who knew how to get people to talk to him and to tell a good story. And through it all, they all appreciated him for just being him.
