RIP to an incredible human being. His fight with cancer the past two years and outlook on life was inspiring to follow. God bless him and his family.

Was fortunate enough to have had a 10 minute conversation with him 3 years ago at XS in Las Vegas about an hour after they opened their doors. He was by himself by the bar drinking a bud light checking out young tail :lol. Never in a million years did I think he'd be so open to a conversation with a fan. An amazing human being who loved the Spurs. He'll be missed by many.

RIP Craig

He definitely brought a touch of humanity and good-natured fun to the NBA. His interactions with Pop were legendary (including the itw between Pop and his son, and the itw when he came back to the NBA).

RIP Mr Sager.

He was fun to watch. One of the few sportscasters that you can enjoy, instead of just enduring.

I really thought he had beaten the cancer. He must have still been really sick, and just came back to do what he loved until the end. I'll miss seeing him.

Well I've never heard of any of those guys and I've heard 'em all. Seriously speaking, the loss of Leon Russell was a great one to the world of music. This thread is supposed to be about Craig Sager and people just started talking about how many significant losses we've had this year- mostly people have been mentioning musicians.

I think the loss of Craig Sager is a significant loss for basketball as he was such a positive 'face' to the sport. A class act- may he rest in peace.

Cancer is a cruel motherfucker. You watch folks erode right in front of you, and you see their struggle for hope and the face they put on to convince others they are keeping the faith, but when the lights go out at night and there they are with their killer, that fear sneaks in and you just hope at some point along that last road that they made some peace with their own demons about life and their own mortality, because it's not just the trials of someone you know, it's foreshadowing what you're in line for if you're not lucky enough to die suddenly.

My dog was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago, it's my only experience with it, fortunately..he hasn't even suffered, yet, so I haven't even had to deal with that part of it..

I can't imagine what it would be like to watch a family member suffer from that type of slow destruction:( Shit is cruel..
