Ramona Shelburne:

Pop said Tony Parker and Pau aren't playing tomorrow night in Portland, so he'd rather save LMA a bit once Spurs started struggling vs Clips

It was obvious when Pau was out there at the end.

Just rest everyone tomorrow. Portland is going to run a train on this team with Lollard shutting down Softridge.

Whew. I thought Pop was sitting LMA for his lazy play. Good to know that was not it.
Pop treats everyone the same.

Curious to see if Pop goes to Murray instead of Lapro starting.

I thought Murray had a decent showing last night being very active in limited minutes.

It's obvious they are resting the players for the Christmas day game vs Bulls. This will probably be a blowout in favor of the Blazers.

Might be the right time. Lapro seems to have struggled with starting while Murray looked pretty confident last night.

Also, we'll get to see what this team looks like without 2 giant liabilities on defense in the starting lineup.

I don't think Murray is ready to start just yet but his quickness and speed were refreshing last night. TP is so done its sad. He's no longer capable of giving strong performances - just good moments. That's it. He's slow, his jump shot is suspect (as usual), floater is flat or non-existent and he can't stay in front of anyone on defense. Its embarrassing at this level and painful to watch.

Parker can't avoid the process of aging. He can't be like Stockton was as his jump shot is not as consistent. They are different guys. He needs his speed to be the player he used to be. That special gear is no longer there. As a result, he is an average or below average player. Chris Paul will be in the same boat very soon.

This is a fact. I AM NOT slamming Tony. He is in his 16th season. It's no crime to be a diminished player. TP should not expect to be compensated beyond next year. Nor should he expect to be with the Spurs. The Spurs need production from this spot and he comes up short way too much now. The FO knows they need to move on in the near future.

Patty Mills will be a much more effective player (hopefully off the bench for the Spurs) for the next 3-4 years. It's very clear what choice needs to be made in the summer. Pay Patty and move on from Tony.

Kinda refreshing nowadays to see a Spurs guard exploding to the rim and actually try to finish (Even Simmons is passing off his drives)..

cp3's only 31 and he's a playmaker. his game isn't based on his athletic ability like tony's. he won't be in the same boat very soon.

for reference, cp3 averaged more assists his rookie season than tony has any season of his career.

one is a natural pg, one isn't.

To be fair, Tony could have averaged more assist in a different system(D'antoni for example). Not that he was as good a passer as CP3, but the system wasn't really tailored for him to get a high number of assist.

If he starts Lee rather than Dedman or Bertans, I'm going to scream. Start Patty and Dedmon and let's see how it goes.

if cp3 is on the spurs next year instead of tony, he'll average at least twice as assists as parker currently is.

FUCKING REST EVERY PLAYER EVERY FUCKING GAME.

Fucking joke of a coach with this resting bullshit. I said it back in 2010 or whenever he started doing it that I did not like it at all. It's gotten worse and worse.

I only ever agreed with resting Tim Duncan because of his knees, haven't ever agreed with resting anyone else if they are healthy enough to play.

Get players that can play the required minutes. If they can't play the minutes, don't sign them.
