View Full Version : Giants @ Green Bay

Appears to be the only legit matchup this WildCard Weekend.

Can Eli III really happen?!
Both Superbowl years 2007 and 2011 the Giants went thru Lambeau Field on the way to butt ramming the Cheatriots.

Rodgers appears way more primed to lead the offense, but can Eli and the Giants O pull out of their slumber?

Pulling for the GMen all the way.

I honestly don't know if Eli is going to have his head up his ass or return to SuperBowl form.
Somewhere in between, but where I do not know.

Green Bay able to return to its SuperBowl defense of two seasons ago? I dunno.

Eli is 7-1 career road playoff games.

Green Bays coach is 3-3 at Lambeau after previous Pack teams were like 14-2.
I don't blame the coach for the Seahawks giveaway tho.

My bad, it's not going to be 15-20. Try sub 10.

The weather a HUGE factor in the game. As we all know all of us can outrun Eli, and his lack of being able to extend plays will really hurt him, forget precise timing in the snow. Rodgers mobility will be the reason the Packers win the game. He'll be running around like backyard football throwing to who can get open.

GB -5

The line opened up at 7.5, the sharps bet it down to 3 , saw 3.5 and even 4. So what is the jump to 5 telling us?

BUT...basic ATS fundamentals, never play weather games.

The Packers have a big fullback, would you believe in a game where snow might be a factor just how big a difference he could make?

It's going to be 2007 all over again. Same brutal weather and same result. Elite doesn't need to be a runner to win. He just needs to be big time, Odell can beat up on their trash secondary, and the Giants top tier pass rush will carry the day. Rodgers won't have room to run most of the time when you have Vernon, quick fatties Hankins & Snacks up the middle, and the other DE playing contain.

While what you are saying makes sense, i believe you are discounting Playoff Eli. When he goes into elite mode, he can QB with the best of them.

As UNT posted, Giants defense may be a key. As GBs.
GBs defense in the Choke Year of 2015 playoffs vs Seattle was some of the best damn playoff D i have ever seen. If Numb Nutts doesn't attempt to field that onside kick, i think GB rolls the Patriots.

cheatriots vs quackers would be the most "fuck it, I'm watching last year's world series of poker tourney and the paint on the wall dry on the commercials" kind of superbowl.

quackers defense is garbage, they looked good in that NFCCG because Seattle has one of the shittiest offenses out of any modern contender. If squelching the Cattle offense is any accomplishment, then The Buccaneers, Saints, Cardinals, and Rams must all have otherworldly defenses... Oh wait.

How long ago did we see...playoff Eli?

If the weather is what we are being told everything changes and the team that can handle the situation has the advantage. A mobile QB has a HUGE edge in a game like that. Eli will be looking for where receivers sre suppose to be, how will that work in the snow? While Rodgers wil be running around looking for whoever he can find.

That big white Packer fullback could be huge in this "spot".

IF.... there is no snow and the elements aren't a real factor then the Giants do have a great chance of winning the game.

Kuhn had 8 carries all of 2008, and he didn't have the burst this guy has.

Aaron Rodgers is far better than Brett Favre and Eli is a lot older.

During the game we will hear something about the mobilty of Rodgers in the elements and the lack of mobility in Eli, this will be like street ball if the weather is the factor it's suppose to be.

There won't be anything but small windows when you have Janoris Jenkins, Dominique Cromartie, Eli Apple, Landon Collins, Andrew Adams patrolling. And don't think Rodgers will be happy when Vernon eats that farsi dude's lunch money (I can never spell his name right).

Do you really think a football freak like myself is going to miss an NFL playoff game? Are you kidding me? What would I be doing instead?

The Giants made a ton of mistakes, but that is the game. That is part of it. Whoever plays the best will win, right? So who played the best, that's right the Packers.

Without the mistakes the Giant lose 38-30....ok?

Now that you have toned it down to "the Packeres played best" that is somewhat more like it.
They accepted the gifts the Giants offered up. Okay.

They score no where near 38 points and probably don't even win, but that's a moot point.

The other stuff: the Hail Mary defense (3rd grade level), the failure to cover the fumble (3rd grade level), the stepping out of bounds at the three yard line, two touchdown passes dropped and numerous other throws dropped....all Giant gift blunders.

Now that you have toned it down to "the Packeres played best" that is somewhat more like it.
They accepted the gifts the Giants offered up. Okay.

Why are you ignoring the fact the Packers already beat the Giants in week five? There is a reason the Packers were the favorites. And Rodgers had a bad game with two picks and only completing 51.0% of his throws.

The Packers were obviously the better team, we all saw it. There is a reason I was soooooooooooooo confident of the outcome, I had the big three....

better coach
better QB
home field advantage

How often does that combo lose a playoff game?

Seahawks had it.
Steelers had it.

I think most had the Packers at home.
It wasn't some ballsy pick by you or anyone else.
Ya a lot of us wondered if Eli could summons some old 2007 and 2011 flashbacks.
Turns out yes the coach and the rest of the Giants team had so much suck that Eli didn't have a chance.

Ditto Pitt at home and Seattle at Cheathawk stadium winning.
Big F deal.

As you totally ignore the fact the Packers already beat the Giants earlier.

Eli wasn't having one of his better seasons in case ya hadn't noticed.

TD/INT...26-16
Passer rating...86.0

The better team won and it was real obvious, ok?

We can give the Giant 20 points, ok? Now they lose 38-33.

This is where your ignorance shows. You truly should have consulted the almanac to see Elis regular season stats for both the 2007 and 2011 Super Bowl win years.

Ignorance is taking the Giants to win this game, that was you not me slugger. Ignorance is taking a rookie head coach over a SB winning coach. Ignorance is ignoring the earlier game. Ignorance is ignoring the fact these Giants were just a 500 team on the road in 2016, while the Packers were 6-2 at home.

Only a fool like you couldn't see the realities of the "spot" these Giants were in. Like I said before the game, Aaron Rodgers would make a HUGE difference.

YOU...talking ignorance, hahahahaha!

Why bother analyzing the games? Not on some Thought Police restriction.
Dominating pfffft.

I hope the Cowboys pop your bubble.
By 13+ points too :lol
The packers beat the dog piss out of them the second half. But hey your eyes see what they want

I just like how people bash Russell Wilson for getting carried but make excuses for Manning.

When has Elite ever had a historically stacked team like Struggle's had his entire career? Elite carried the Giants past far more talented teams in the playoffs in his prime with clutch play after clutch play. In his first Super Bowl, he beat a Patriots team that was a million times better than the one Struggle choked against in his second SB.

If Elite had the luxury of the Seahawks' 2012-present rosters for his first five years, he'd have at least four or five rings right now.

I wanted the Giants to win. Mainly because they don't puss out in SuperBowls vs the Cheatriots and Eli was stellar.
I don't recall picking the Giants to beat the Packers. Please show me where i did. And i certainly did not put money on the Giants. Regardless Eli played very well.

That having been said you seem to need a real pat on the back for your selection of the Packers at home.
So pat away on yourself.

Why do you need this average performance by Packers into an RRRRRRRah dominating win?
I dunno. Maybe it's been a while since they won the Bowl? I thought they were the best team in the Cheatriots accepting the gift win from Pete Caroll.

Anyway onward. May the Pack do well against Dallas and may the best team win by playing better.

Wilson was better in college than Eli was. And FAR better in his first five seasons.

Dude, are you really this out of touch with reality?

Will you ever take a few minutes and actually compare the stats? Eli Manning pales in comparison and only a fool like you wouldn't see that.

Russell Wilson has never had the receivers "group" that a lot of the great QB's had. He didn't have that stud TE. Yes, he now has Graham and Baldwin is coming on. Yet he still broke NFL records.

Look at the Texans, they have the number one D in 2016, so how come Brock isn't doing what Wilson did? And he also has a 1000 yard RB.

This.....unless he plays on a shit team.....mentality we see from CN is stupidity at it's worst. Look at all those HOF QB;s who were surrounded by fellow HOFers.

Russell Wilson is the greatest first five seasons QB in the history of the NFL. And would have been on any team he played on.

Lynch retires so what;s he do....4000 yards, 4200 yards. Something he could have done in his rookie season if that was what Carroll wanted.

Eli got dragged to those rings kicking and screaming by elite defenses. Outside of those two runs 0 playoff wins.
