Megyn Kelly, who arrived at Fox News 12 years ago as a television news neophyte but rose to become one of its two biggest stars, has decided to leave the network to take on a broad new role at NBC News for an undisclosed salary, NBC announced Tuesday afternoon.

The NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, wooed Ms. Kelly away from Fox News by offering her a triple role in which she will host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage.

Hm... now this is interesting. Is she going to be making appearances on MSNBC now? I guess she lost credibility with the Fox News crowd when she rightfully criticized Trump for his treatment of women.

I think she'll moderate quite a bit and focus coverage on the issues where she leans to the left. A lot of her lunacy was based on where she was employed, which directed what stories she had to cover. (I remember when Greta Van Susteren was a moderate before her FOX days).

NBC isn't hiring her to have debates on whether Santa Claus is white or not, or to interview some jackass atheist suing an elementary school over a kid's cross T-shirt to embarrass him on the air.

She'll cover stories in whatever way is best for her employer and her career.

ABC Ratings Took Major Dive When Megyn Kelly Appeared on Good Morning America

But, could Kelly’s recent appearance on Good Morning America have stopped that network from competing harder for the Fox News host? Mediaite has learned that the minute-by-minute ratings for GMA took a major (and surprising) dive during her segment on November 15 to promote her new book, Settle For More. According to sources with access to those all important and specific network ratings,

Kelly appeared for approximately 10 minutes at around 7:31 a.m, during that time, the ratings continued to plummet in particular compared to other days.

Network execs across the board apparently expected that the Fox News host’s interview would boost the bottom of the 7 o’clock hour especially since she was discussing controversial allegations against her former boss, Roger Ailes. But– that didn’t happen.

skeptical about Kelly’s ability to maintain a daytime audience, citing the failure of both Katie Couric and Anderson Cooper to do so.
