Meh, he's never going to be more than a backup PG, which is what I thought he will be. So no, I wasn't wrong.

He's having a poor season, tbh, not just tonight..

Raptors record is impressive when you consider that they have consistently gotten shitty production from Valenciunas, Carroll and Cojo..

Joseph is not a scoring star, he is a star defender and he was good tonight on defense. It's just the rest of his team sucked. He switched on Kawhi a few times and bodied him off the block. How many other PG can guard a star SF on the block?

He Moved the ball better than their stars it's just that team had no inside presence with terrible bigs. He had to take contested jumpers and I think it hurts his % as he's not a sharpshooter who should be forcing like that... the Raptors don't move the ball... 5 assists total for the team by the 4 th Q. And their bigs are horrible.

His pesky defense made him contribute more to that team than others. In general Raptors need to make a move for a better big or they won't make it too far choking per their usual. Frankly it's a shame they are in line to compete with the Cavs. Someone in the East has to out up a fight and not let the Cavs get to the finals refreshed and cake-walking.

CoJo's a good backup, he was impressive in last playoffs. I didn't watch him for months in the regular season and I was pleasantly surprised.
This season not so much but the Raptors lost to the Suns so it's clear they're having some problems in the last weeks.

So people like him cuz he scored 2 points 4 years ago during garbage time over one of the most overrated centers in the past decade? I'd take an armless Patty Mills over that turd.

The whole thing came because I made a comment about "sensing that Murray could be very special" and he said something like "you feel that way 'cause the Spurs drafted him and they say the love him and blah, blah, blah". Murray is a late first rounder just as Cojo but I never thought Joseph "could be very special". That's why I gave DPG21920 Cojo's example, it is not because I expect every late first rounder to be an all-star, tbh.

What you mean is that you feel that Murray has higher ceiling than Cojo and we agree.

In our side our point is that Cojo is in fact already "special", not a lot of 30ish have even what can be called a NBA career, Cojo is a clear rotation player with healty 20-25 mn pg which is great and special. At the end what I'm trying to say is I also was not high on Cojo and I was wrong because dude is having a quite solid NBA career.

Brazil
01-04-2017, 01:22 PM

Nah, I thought he could be a good backup,; and I realize that's very good for a late first rounder. I was just comparing him to the expectations I have of Murray.

it's been endlessly discussed in the "was Aldridge was worth it ?" thread, but the verdict is already here.. the Spurs haven't really lost anything by signing LMA in relation to what has become (or hasn't ) of Splitter/Cojo/Baynes/Belineli in their next stop.....

Right now, I would only love me a cameo off-ball movement scoring punch from Beli when our offense screeches to a halt..Ferrari is is actually having the best season of them all (11 PPG on 46FG%/45 3P% :wow)..

Yeah, I only regretted losing Belinelli at the time. Once he finally got away from a crap franchise with crap players in Sacramento, he's returned to his usual impact. We could use him, especially after Manu retires.
