No (Tony Parker or George Gervin), no (how do you gauge "competitiveness") and no (Tim Duncan).

Nice try with the trolling topic/thread, though.

I almost forgot manu's eurosteps and just driving to the lane. So sick... Kawhi should watch some of Manu's highlights when he's splitting the defense, he does it so well..

great post. Manu is undoubtedly the best spur not named tim duncan. The things he could do at every stage of the game was just amazing in his prime. Best all around player I have ever watched.

Manu IS the best guard in Spurs history, most competitive player (ability to raise level of play in clutch or important game winning situations) and ONE of the best teammates ever.

And about half of them don't really hate Manu so much as they get sick of Apa's incessant click-bait threads. He (and a few others) intentionally throws incendiary shit into the title, or claims that just go way too far, and then sits back and laughs at all the chaos. You know... if you don't agree that XXXX is "The best ever", you must be a hater.

A whole lot of the worst of ST is manufactured, and kept alive through constant, calculated effort.

These 2 games I remember fondly because even though we didn't win those years Manu played his heart out and I'm sure if he would've been healthy we would've won it all. For me Manu is the definition of 'Heart of a Champion".

It's crazy to watch the old highlights of Manu and just be amazed at the things he did on the court. Just such a unique player tbh and a lot of people compare him and Harden and their games are not alike at all imo.

It's also weird seeing how quick he used to be and even with his handle compared to what we see today..

OP is still a bitch with an agenda but I do appreciate the videos from others..we should do these with other Spurs players as well

One of my favorite shots. Shows the raw athleticism that can be attained by these guys even in just a "routine" jump shot (it was the game winner, but still). It looked like an everyday jump shot from the game cam, then when you see this angle you see how exaggerated the angles to this shot are. Amazing.

Got some goosebumps on that behind back sling to blair at the end of that minnesota game. God Manu was so special. There will never be another player like him. When I see these kind of highlights of his glory games it really sinks in what a shell of his former self he now is.

There was one move in Dallas on a fastbreak with Bruce I think, he went behind his back to pass the but when the defender jumped over he wrapped it around to himself. Then when the defender jumped back over to him, he went right behind his back again and passed to Bruce. It was so fast but an amazing instinctual play with flair that only Manu could do. Bruce missed the layup so it's the highlight that never was. I remember being pissed at Bowen for robbing Manu of an amazing highlight.

Love Manu!

With that said, dude can't get it off his own way anymore and Pop won't stop playing him in crunch time. :lol

I can't find it on you tube but the dive out of bounds play leaning forward stretched out then he slings it back for the assist with all that momentum moving forward from the dive. That was an amazing play.

HankChinaski
01-14-2017, 08:02 PM
But back on topic. Manu has done some heartbreaking errors in judgment in games that led to losses. He's still an amazing hall of famer that Spurs could never replace with anyone else in the prime years on the team. Spurs would not have been able to sign or trade anyone at the time to fill his shoes.

He's always done everything for the team from sliding to the bench instead of starting to looking to make plays for his teammates instead of himself. He just wants to win

Can't really put in links right now from work, but if you look for Manu vs mavs there are a lot of good ones (06 game 6 he was huge; regular season game in 07 where he destroyed them with Duncan out including dunking all over Diop and Howard; '10 playoffs the game he broke his nose, iirc shortly after he had a drive to close the game out between 2-3 dudes; 2014 game 7 people remember Tony finally catching fire, but Manu had been good all series and has something like 20, 5 ast and 5 stl and just clowned dirk all series long)
