View Full Version : Poker GTG Saturday Nov 12th

scott
10-10-2005, 06:15 PM
This has been talked about in the past, but I don't think anything ever came of it... so, I'll take an active approach to the subject...

How many people would be interested in a poker GTG? Nothing too serious, probably a $25 or $50 buy in NL ring game. I'd be more than willing to offer up my facilities. I've got a table that can fit up to 12, and for my FSP friends I won't turn on the rake.

Edit: How about Saturday, November 12?

Another Edit: List of People Interested:

1. Scott
2. KEDA
3. Johnny Blaze
4. Manny
5. Kdfelicity
6. Jim
7. GINNNNNNNNNNOBILI
8. 2centsworth
9. batman
10. Ginofan
11. Kris
12. Mouse
13. T Park

For those who said "count me in plus others", we can use the "others" as a backup in the event other people can't make it, but I'd rather fill the table with FSPers rather than the friends of FSPers. Any extras are welcome to wait for an extra seat of course.

Scott you must live in a huge luxury penthouse or something.

I would go, but I totally suck at poker. ThisPego is a poker god though.

My current pad is actually a bit on the small side for this gig, but is servicable (I've done it before). When I used to run regular games I had a sweet place with a dedicated bedroom for the poker table... ahh, the good old days.

We actually have had poker GTG's relatively often this summer, but I'm sure that people are up for another one whenever. It's good that you have a big table because I don't like splitting into two tables.

Yeah, we'll play a cash game so you can rebuy whoever much you want. I'll just limit your buy in to to the table max though, whatever we decide that is.

Last I heard, a keg will cost you $80+ depending on what brew you choose. :drunk

3rdCoast
10-26-2005, 12:16 AM
keg is 60 for the deposit, u get that 60 back if u bring the shell back

the beer will run you anywhere from 60-100 to fill it up

keg is good for like 220 cups of beer minus the first 3 which are all foam

so 217 beers is a good deal

keg = fun

and have jobs,
so only folks with jobs are invited to come? I had no idea I should have read the disclaimer.

I see many folks at this site with jobs who can't afford 25 to 50 dollars a game, what are you saying about them?

Worry about yourself Hip.

Online? Mostly Pacific and Party. I haven't played Noble in a while, and I played Poker Room to get a reload bonus but as soon as I cleared it I pulled my cash. The games there are not as soft as Pacific and Party.

Scott, I was playing on Full Tilt Poker last night and I had AKd

10d, 10s and Jd flopped

Js on the turn

Everyone dropped but me and another guy who only bet on the turn, I called the $2, because I had top kicker now with my ace and I had the flush draw.
Qd on the river.

I checked, he bet $2, I went all in with my last $3.50, he called.

He had Q-10 giving him a Boat, Tens full of Queens, I had a Royal Straight Flush....my first ever.

:elephant

I did not realize I had the Royal, I just saw the diamond at first giving me the flush...then I looked at it and freaked out.

I love this game!!!

Those numbers are from a program called Poker Ace HUD. It reads from a database that is maintained by another program called Poker Tracker. Poker Tracker reads hand histories from varius online poker rooms. It then keeps track of every single thing that happend while that hand was played. Who raised, who called, who scratched their nose etc.

The database on it's own is great for keeping track of your play. You can look back to see if you're overplaying, if you're starting hand selection sucks, etc etc. It breaks it down big time.

It also keeps track of your opponents play and catagorizes them based on a set of rules. You can define them yourself, or go with the default. You can see how often your oppoent folds to a river bet, how often they check raise and how often they pay to see a flop along with almost every other stat on their game.

PAHUD then takes that information and lays it on top of the poker room's window, which is what you see in those numbers.

The numbers displayed show how often then put money into a pot, how ofteh they raise preflop, an aggression factor, and how many hands you have logged for them total. You can customize this as well and choose other stats to overlay. Needless to say, having that info there makes decisions a shitload easier.
