What a week. He'll probably plummet in these rankings as soon as Parker gets back, but right now he deserves recognition. Just listen to Jeff Van Gundy rave about him on national television:
It feels a little unfair that the Spurs have him, but then, this is what they do.

What a steal with that draft pick. The spurs front office is playing chess while the rest of the teams GM's are playing checkers. :flag:

Murray obviously has been putting in lots of time with Chip since his shot is improving so much, especially his jump shots which used to have a sideways twist and he'd come down awkwardly to his left foot. Now he shooting dead on and with follow through. Really fast improvement.

May be the best Murray in the draft, tbh

i kind of wonder how things would have worked out for Anderson without the stress fracture in his foot early in his career with the Spurs.

CBS Sports sucks and JVG sucks even more. Doesn't stop Murray from being awesome, though.

:toastFuture looks bright.
Really happy for the team and Kawhi specially, that Spurs have found a young guard --younger than him which is great, and I thought it was going to be tough to do-- who can grow as a player beside him and has that potential to really be special. It reminds me (though long before my time) of how a young Tony came into the team while Timmy was already the Man. I think the future looks bright indeed.

Yea, I rarely check the site, but I was doing a search to find news about Tony and it popped up. I had to share the link.
No news on Tony by the way.

I see the comparisons in style of play and youth. Murray has it much easier though. He doesn't get yelled at as much as TP did lol, and he's got the D-League as well that is used very often where he can get minutes and continue to grow.
His jump shot is already ahead of the curve from where TP was too. Now whether he gets to the level that TP was at his peak remains to be seen, but thus far he's headed in the right direction for what we'll need.
Here's to hoping he continues to develop, stays healthy, and feeds of Kawhi's work ethic
It's not that every team sucks at drafting, it's that they suck at development.
Murray is exactly who we thought he is, a skinny kid who has size. He needs minutes, he's just lucky To get minutes with a very talented squad that can cover his weaknesses.

Not quite. He still needs to make up for picking his son's friend Corey Joseph over Jimmy Butler, and picking Tony Parker's friend Labia Jean Charles over any other player.

You're ranking him above Embiid? The guy averaging 20 and 8 with 2.5 blocks in 25 minutes per game? Probably the best rookie classic big man since Tim Duncan?

As to that CMC situation, I don't expect to have any bet in place by the Super Bowel.

Just out of the rotation... with these couple of losses I wonder if Pop gives him some minutes...
I expect Simmons to come back soon though which Wil further cut his chances. Kind of sad he's had to watch his team loss without being able to do anything after playing well... :td
