View Full Version : The Microwave comes in, and nothing gets cooked.

Spurs were cruising, up 11, Pelicans rally and cut it to 6. Usually a perfect time in a game to bring in instant offense to cut down the other team's run, but...

http://oi67.tinypic.com/14azfpw.jpg

Now, I agree with Pop's decision here. This is the kind of situation where you sub in microwave players. They come in, hit a couple of 3s, and spark the team to a run. And Patty did earn back some confidence with his good game against Toronto. But it was obviously a fluke. House hasn't truly gotten over his slump. It's time to see what Murray has as the main backup.

And it was still a 6 point lead. House is supposed to be a stopgap for runs. MVPatty and all that horseshit.

Team game, right? And yeah, Patty is supposed to stop the bleeding. He's the first man off the bench. Our best 6th man (supposedly) who is good enough to be a starter according to some idiots.

Also, other players were responsible for that "bleeding." Kawhi was inefficient. Green was terrible. And LMA was building brick walls. You can't isolate "bleeding" to just one player.

Overall, sure others could've played better. That disastrous minute and a half stretch prior to Paddy coming in though? That was all Enrique. He needs to retire his hero cape and come to terms with the fact that he has no business trying to be the man even during small stretches.

Runs happen. Good teams and players stifle runs, and Patty is supposed to be a run killer. Not lately though, unless it's against the Nets.

The Pels aren't even that good of a team. And I'm not about to give them credit because a scrub decided to get his hero on and predictably failed. Runs happen, and Enrique's hero antics fueled a huge one for the Pels. Let's keep starting him though. Why the fuck not.

YEP. This man knows what he's talking about. Parker and Mills fans going at each other, but both were equally bad. lol.

Parker started it, Mills finished it. Great combo to have in the playoffs. Spurs are screwed. If Pop doesn't want to play Murray and get him ready just in case he's needed in the playoffs, I hope a decent PG is bought out and the Spurs sign him.

Agree. This was like the game against T-Pups...Rubio is one of the worst shooters in the league, barely averaged 8 ppg and scored 21 against Parker and Mills.

Neither of them can defend and unless Patty is with the hot hand, I wouldn't play any of them many minutes against good teams in playoffs, they're net negative for the Spurs. BOTH.

So what? He also was fouled in other plays and didn't get the call.

Kawhi was fouled in the last shot at the end of first half and in the 3rd in his 2nd shot, refs didn't call those...

I appreciate Kawhi's developing his court vision, however, I am not sure that having Kawhi give out more assists than he receives is the best thing for the team.

I'd LOVE if the team would give Kawhi more easy points than they do.

A point guard like Paul would give Kawhi's 25 points per game just in alley-oop and P&Rs without Kawhi having to spend too much energy creating his own shots.

But neither Parker or Mills are that type of playmaker...
Parker just can set offense for bigs like LMA and Pau, he doesn't interact with Kawhi -because Pop not Parker-...Patty barely can play a P&R...And Paul is too fragile to think he can be Spurs target in the summer.

Anyway, Kawhi has improved a lot his drive and dish...I'd say that's his biggest improvement in this season. Defense collapses on him, and he's finding the open guy so well.

Who cares about team Parker vs team Patty. It's discouraging how useless both of them become when their best strength isn't used to its advantage. The fact that I rather see Murray out there than these two is a scary thought. That being said, MVParker and MVPatty is still capable of happening but I'm also starting to think it's a pipedream that we get both in the playoffs.
