Twitter beef is usually reserved for rappers, but this week, two NBA players got into it.
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum and Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons exchanged words on Twitter Friday night (Jan. 27), which began with a tweet from the Trail Blazers’ official account.
The team tweeted out a video of Parsons shooting an air ball on a 3-point attempt during Portland’s 112-109 victory on Friday, garnering a reply from Parsons.
Good luck in the lottery show this year,” he wrote.
After Parsons fired off the shot, McCollum offered a response: “We hit the lottery by not signing you.”
ESPN notes that the Memphis forward has struggled with injuries and inconsistent play, after signing a four-year, $94.4 million deal with the Grizzlies in the offseason. This season, he’s averaging career lows of 6.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
