Anderson has to take that 3 man. He's hit a few lately I don't get it. Its why he's getting benched now I bet

Kyle Anderson is nothing but a cog. He's not dependable to take any shots for this team. All he's interested in doing is moving the ball (slowly) even if it's not the best option for the team.
Why was the Cancer benched if he's the HOTS?

Dropping this game in the same lackluster fashion as the Pels game when you would expect them to come out breathing fire and torch the Mavs makes me wonder if something is going on in the locker room or otherwise behind the scenes. Warriors are regular season tryhards. they're elite for sure but they go all out in the regular season. Just look at the minutes Kerr plays their top 4. I also refuse to give them too much credit for basically signing a top 3 player for nothing. The Spurs would look just as unstoppable if they had Durant.

Might be smart for the Spurs to start taking calls on players tbh. Get what you can for the pieces that won't be returning next year/whose value won't get better like Mills, Simmons, LMA, and Gasol. The next few drafts have some nice players and teams like the Kings/T-Pups/Nuggets are desperate to make the postseason. Spurs will be there regardless at this point but it'd be better to keep their goals realistic and see what they have in Murray/Bertans/Forbes/Dedmon.

It wasn't falling behind; it was all of our guys putting forth a lackadaisical effort all night. It is almost impossible to flip the effort switch.

Warriors are regular season tryhards. they're elite for sure but they go all out in the regular season. Just look at the minutes Kerr plays their top 4. I also refuse to give them too much credit for basically signing a top 3 player for nothing. The Spurs would look just as unstoppable if they had Durant.

Maybe the Spurs vets know they're locked into the 2. Only ones hungry are rookies, and vets with something to prove/contract year guys (Lee for example).
Not sure where Patty's head was in this game...
And that's not totally abnormal, guys tend to coast at times. We don't win this if Murray starts or Anderson plays more or whoever else. At the end of the day it's on our big guns to take us home, and they've been sub par the last couple games.
I think Simmons energy is missed off the bench too, but there was no excuse for tonight. I wish others played with the passion that Lee plays with

Well, if everyone wasn't consistently blaming 1 person or the coach, there'd be more balance here.
Tonight it's easy to find blame. The last 2 games guys have been sloppy with the ball and shooting the ball poorly. Recipe for disaster. Kawhi and LMA have to do more plain and simple. Same with Patty and Green with their shooting .
Theres plenty of blame to go around. I'm actually dissapointed Pop didn't go to Bertans and went with Anderson too. He proved he can defend well and was hitting his shots.

Energy may be missed but he's not some savior.... sometimes all he contributes is on defense, etc. He's not a nightly scorer and his role is small. Lamarcus shooting slump is the significant factor in both games. Just horrible inefficiency.

But it's okay for TD21 and Amused to bump their stupid threads every loss about the team being done, not legit championship contenders etc. I would much rather see bklyn's optimism than the same recycled takes that tampon wearing crew likes to bring up.
I thought this was suppose to be a transition year for the team too but here they are with still the 2nd best record in the league. When so many people call out the same problems over and over, it isn't a coincidence. Some of it is outlandish trolling like Porker is fat, Fathead, etc., but Pop's rotation and inability to practice what he preaches has been well-documented for three-plus seasons now. It also cannot be denied that Parker has caused more harm than good since 2014 as a starter, albeit it's not all his fault (comes back to Pop's decision-making with the team).

For sure, but sometimes that spark is needed. The team feeds off those dunks or blocks or whatever. Not saying it's a difference maker, but the lack of energy on the perimeter is lacking with him gone.

100% spot on.
This team screams 2nd round exit, if not an embarrassing 1st round exit. But anyone pointing out the problems is called a spoiled Spurs fan.
Seems like we're supposed to be satisfied just because the Spurs created a dynasty during Duncan's career. We have to move on. If Pop doesn't give a damn about winning anymore after squeezing a late ring in 14, he should retire. It's that simple.
Right now, we have fool's gold team. We know it and Pop knows it. It's 2011 all over again. Great RS record but the team has too many flaws that could be exploited in the playoffs.

Yeah, I think they will be rested up this time. Spurs aren't going to push them at all. I think last season the Spurs may have pushed them into running themselves ragged. I think at first, they were just trying to keep the number 1 seed with the Spurs so close, but then they went for history. The Warriors might have a good playoffs this time around with extra rest obtained by not getting challenged for the number 1 seed.

You know what else tells us nothing? Wins against Golden State on opening night and a win against Cleveland in prime time. Shocking how you can't see the flaws but decide to use the overly used cliche "regular season games are meaningless" to prove a point. Have the last two postseasons taught you anything? I don't think people are complaining about losing a regular season game. It's the way in which they're losing that's alarming.

I've been pointing out the flaws since the off-season..games vs. shitty teams don't expose strengths or weaknesses, though:lol they're simply a matter of either lack of effort or poor/hot shooting, that's the NBA..the Warriors are the only team that has enough talent to play every night(Cleveland has been mediocre for most of the year, it's clearly not due to lack of talent, for example)
And please don't cite the last 2 playoff failures when your entire shtick has been to say the Spurs can't win a title every season that you've been here(and you're obviously aware of that)

That's not even a half truth but even if it was, i would have been right 6 out of 7 years (.857 win pct.) Now let me give you a cliche that still holds water, "Defense wins championships." No matter what the stats say, in no way, shape or form is this defense anywhere near championship contending status. And this past week, you can't blame it all on Pau's help defense even though that would fit a lot of narratives around here. :lol

It's not so much about feeling there's no reason to post a meaningful take. But there are a handful of posters who I can have good genuine basketball discussions with. The rest is just trying to shut trolls down with facts, which of course doesn't work. Trolls gon troll at the end of the day
I'll be perfectly honest here, and I don't think/know if people can relate. Prior to 2013 , I was the same way. Flipping out, yelling at the TV, thinking games are over, etc... I Bet if I go back to my posts from years prior to that, I was similar with saying a game is over even if there's plenty of time. But Game 6 kind of numbed me to getting so upset over these meaningless regular season games. Now obviously some are bigger than others, Warriors, Cavs, etc... But other than that, it's just kind of like whatever. Obviously I want to win every game, but I know it's not realistic. Even in 2014, we didn't have a very impressive regular season, and we were called fools gold because we couldn't beat elite teams.
I know this isn't the 2014 team. We don't have the fire/drive/chemistry.. But I also know these losses now don't dictate a thing come playoff time. Like if our D steps up and our shooters are hitting their shots? Anything can happen
