Yep. And for the past 6 months it's been directing me to a MyFileShare.com site the first time I click on a ST link after deleting the history or turning on the PC. I just hit Back and click the link again and it goes to ST. Something screwy-louis has definitely been going on with ST of late.

If you see redirects to other domains/sites then put them here I can tell you what could be the malignant tumor.

Most likely Spurstalk servers have been hacked. If you use you phne for banking you are pretty much fucked :lol

I have Malwarebytes installed. (Edge browser) A little over a week ago, I started getting warnings that the site was trying to send traffic to d.dreniq.com I could tell you what I found about them, but I'd rather see what you come up with instead of trying to point you in one direction.

If it helps, it happens most often in game threads. But that is likely because I refresh a LOT more often when in game threads. It seems to be designed to make the redirects sporadically - I presume to keep people from noticing, like they would if it happened every time. I will refresh normally 10-15 times. Then the redirect warnings will pop up for the next several refreshes. I can't see any pattern, or any other cause and effect. I'm not doing anything different, just refreshing.

I dont disagree NSA might be "testing out" stuff

But this is googles warning. And it is related to phishing or tricking users to reveal their personal info

My guess is either someone deliberately complained about our site someone important or someone is linking phishing sites on their posts

more than 0.02 seconds

the owner of the domain has to buy a cert, install it, to convert from insecure HTTP to more secure HTTPS. and renew the cert every year, or pay more for multi-year cert.

Hate to say it but this doesn't seem entirely unlikely.

LJ, Kori, and the mods have been mostly hands off for a few years now, but it used to be if there was a problem with the site, Slomo would be on top of it within 24 hours generally.

There is a way for you guys to "fix" this so you don't get the warning. Somehow this site got flagged, even without a valid SSL cert it shouldn't be showing that retarded red page tbh. I guess browsers added this as a "feature" in recent releases, this is the first time I've ever seen this type of page tbh.

I'll cover all 3 browsers.

Safari:
Go to Preferences-> Security-> Fraudulent sites and uncheck warn when visiting fraud site.

Firefox:
Go to Preferences -> Security-> General-> Uncheck Block dangerous sites

Chrome:
Go to Preferences-> Click Show Advanced Settings at bottom-> Privacy-> Uncheck Protect you and devices from dangerous sites

If you are concerned about having this unchecked all of us have been on the internet without this feature until now, just don't go browsing some shading RU sites and enter in personal data.

That's strange, I haven't had issues on the macbook. What browser are you using? Are you on a VPN or company connection?

The problem isn't with the Browsers. I can enter ST from Chrome, Safari, Opera and Firefox on my devices (MacBook, iPhone, iPad). Those browsers will give you some kind of warning but will let you continue if you really want to proceed. I guess is the same for other computers, smartphones, tablets, etc.

The problem is when you have a very restrictive antivirus/security on your computer/network. If the phishing category is banned from said security program/network you won't be able to enter ST.

I don't have any facts, so I probably shouldn't even comment. I do know that there are a whole lot of thought police out there, on both ends of the political spectrum. Back in October when the announcement was made about the new ownership/administration I asked the question about what was the purpose of all the secrecy. We still don't know who is responsible for the site. According to WHOIS.com, the SpursTalk domain is still owned by Johnathan Ellis and he is the contact for all administration and technological questions.

I can understand some lackadaisical attitude toward official administration changes since this is more of a hobby for whoever runs it. But if the "new" administration is supposed to provide " a new support process will be implemented to provide faster and more reliable support." we have yet to see it.

And the lack of any support process is particularly annoying now that our browser applications are giving us messages that the site is 'deceptive' and may be putting malware on our computers. A responsible owner or administrator would be on top of the possibility that the site may have been hacked by some malicious operator. Whoever the administrator is, something ought to be done and an announcement to the members about the malware situation should be made.
