#circa2002
He's just not lifting. I dont think its because he's getting fouled. He's just not getting there as much (obviously) and when he does, he just can't finish as well in traffic because less lift (and touch is off). Hopefully he gets some juice in the legs every now and again.
I thought the push was the reason that ball came so hard off the glass, but in general I agree with you.

I don't have a crystal ball, but the issue with the Spurs' recent play has been attitude. These guys are just lackadaisical like there might be some dissension or a divided locker room. My guess is that the issue involves LMA in some way. He has been especially ordinary since the ASG snub. I doubt he was a big fan of Kawhi's 30-plus point streak.

Simmons catches a lot of shit when he blows plays, but I like the way he plays. When he's in the game, the defense is reacting to the Spurs, not the other way around. I would like for him to tighten his play up some, but even if he doesn't I want him back.

Well it's not like Tony or Patty are consistent or have the length to bother players on defense. Murray can get some exposure. Just pisses me off Pop still runs with this rookie philosophy and it always bites him in the ass in the playoffs like his treatment of Hill and Splitter.

Well it's not like Tony or Patty are consistent or have the length to bother players on defense. Murray can get some exposure. Just pisses me off Pop still runs with this rookie philosophy and it always bites him in the ass in the playoffs like his treatment of Hill and Splitter.
Well Patty can run more minutes if he's doing well and tony can if he is. I don't think we'd get dramatically better taking minutes away honestly

Pop being tough coaching Murray.
Simmons with 3 steals, a block, 5 boards, an assist, 7 points, and 4 FTA's (even if he did miss 3 of them). Pretty good return.

I'm no fan, either. But did you ever have to run one? Holy shit, it's a zoo. There's about a zillion things to keep up with, and you can get behind before you even know what hit you. Anybody who can do it and get it right is a true badass.

Davis didn't hit his shots but much improved on D and lead the team with a +20. Coincidence or gravity? Or just normal for "New Bonner". :lol
I don't care much about the usual Simmons' kobe interpretation on garbage time, tbh.
If you mean that last play, the shot clock was running out when he got the ball, and he took it right at the defender. Should have gotten a whistle and shots. It can look pretty awkward when the guy gets to mug the ball handler, and the ref swallows his whistle. The game was decided, but he did exactly what he needed to do on that play.
I admit, sometimes he looks awkward, even when he doesn't get fouled though.

No, I mean 99% of the garbage minutes he plays. He just becomes a black hole, if he gets the defensive rebound you can safely bet no other Spur will touch the ball on the following possesion.

He has a good game. His shot was off but I liked the boards and his activity on D. Also no fouling like previously. It bodes well for him he can contribute even when the shot is off. I think he needed a game like this where he did everything else. :tu

I would even fear the Grizz right now. During this stretch it's been more apparent outside of Kawhi and in some cases LMA, this team is inconsistent. It doesn't take a lot for our role players to go cold or be non factors.

This team struggles against athleticism, which the Grizz lack. Plus Pau will get up to play his brother. Spurs should win that series in 5.

Good point. I would definitely want to avoid OKC in the first round though. You called it, their athleticism is still overwhelming. I think Spurs could still beat them but they would be banged up in the process. It's too bad the Dubs can avoid OKC in the first round and just have to settle for Nuggets/Guests :rolleyes

Uneven playing field, tbh. OKC plays "physical" ball and gets away with committing fouls. But the Spurs get called for ticky-tacky stuff. Looking to the postseason a big question is: how can the Spurs develop a plan to even the playing field?

Just minimize the number of shots they can take at you by handling your business and eliminating them. Spurs should beat OKC in 5 if healthy.

yea i just rewatched.. he was lazy fighting through a screen, then the next possession he comes down and goes 1 on 1 with 15 seconds on the shot clock. It's just poor game management and comes like maybe he just wants to get his name in the scoring column. We should be winding the clock down, not rushing shots, and he's done stuff like that before. He just has to recognize the game situation better
