Considering Brady, Belichick and Kraft are all Trumpettes, will we read "Rigged!" from a POTUS tweet again, tbh? :lol

Look I have no beef with the Pats, but didn't Brady end up getting his 4 game suspension after appeal because his cellphone just happened to end up destroyed just when they wanted to look at his text messages? :lol

PatsPhag will counter with some legalese pivot that Brady had pictures stored of himself with other guys in an icy windowed car steaming up the inside, thus his privacy rights would be violated if the NFL saw his widdle cell phone texts.

He was never required to hand over his cell phone. NFLPA actually forbids it. The league asked to see it but the CBA does not require he hand anything over. More fake news, tbh. The only reason judges upheld the suspension is because the CBA does in fact give the commissioner almost God-like power in handing out suspensions, justified or not.

It was largely Goodell trying to win approval in the court of public opinion. There was still a lot of backlash for how he handled Ray Rice, so he saw an easy way to win some fan approval by coming down on the most hated team in the NFL.

Clipper Nation

Say what you want about Goodell, his approach to discipline is still a lot better than the NCAA's. Those spineless turds do nothing while Penn State and Baylor turn themselves into rape factories, Louisville blurs the line between recruiting and prostitution, and UNC embroils itself in one of the biggest academic cheating scandals in recent memory.

Will Hunting
02-04-2017, 11:54 AM
Having a better discipline system than the NCAA is basically being the best looking horse at the glue factory.

his discipline system is simply to react to public opinion. Ray Rice gets only 2 games for decking his fiancé, then after Hilary horse face Swank does a series of domestic violence commercials that get everyone hot and bothered, he goes off the deep end and destroys Rice's career.

At least Goodell listens to public opinion. The NCAA is too paralyzed with fear of the big-money schools splitting away from them to do anything, even when every fan of college sports and the media are all demanding action. Or even worse, they'll do their routine of slapping a big-money school on the wrist and then revoking the sanctions once the story dies down.

If the NCAA had any balls, they'd call the P5's bluff on this Baylor thing. They'd shut down the program and dare the P5 to leave - knowing full well that if any of them did, people would start to wonder how many rapes they're covering up.

The Colts game is irrelevant to me. That was a beatdown and Andrew Luck sucks.

The thing that really stings me is the Ravens didn't get an interception in the previous round game and that game was a complete nail biter and an offensive shootout. Those balls were also likely deflated but we'll never know, if they didn't cheat perhaps SB 49 would have been "Battle of the Birds", with the Seahawks likely winning back-to-back.

I really don't like the Pats, especially when the Spurs are used as a comparison.

But damn...

That is a fantastic QB, coach and team. The greatness is recognized and valid.
Brady getting beat up by the Falcons and has the guts to believe the Oline will come through. The guy does not get happy feet, he just hangs tough, channels his fury, throws strikes, gets some luck, and wins.

Great game even though the "bad guys" won.

And can you imagine that fellow who made that million dollar bet? He had it won. Was already spending that money, most likely making lists in his mind if not actual paper of what he was going to spend it on. Oh, God, I can't stand people losing money, or, dying.

And the poor owner of the Falcons:::he came down onto the field too early. He just had to stand there and watch that catastrophe unfold.

And the Almighty Gaga:::they had her hung up, just the wires were about a foot apart instead of being gathered and looped around her honky neck.

Halftime is the time of feasting.

This year is the only year I actually watched/listened to intermission entertainment. That Gaga is seriously talented. I just thought she dressed up in lobster costumes and played strange. The whole Super Bowl this year was very entertaining. Even After the game Kraft got his shots in on Roger, good stuff the whole way.

And now from always pertinent ST posts I realize the game had politics involved. The Patriots were Trump, Atlanta the Democrats... Something for everyone, no matter how bizarre.
