Joel Anthony was exactly the type of player this team was missing! Great job PATFO!

These type of losses make you question the team's focus. Its an embarrassment. We pretty much have one guy that shows up every night and carries a bunch of pussies. It seems like they are in full COAST mud - just waiting for the All-Star break. Luckily, the rest of the league sucks too I guess. I would have hoped to see them stomp on the Knicks.

to be fair, we used to lose these 3PM games during Timmy's tenure all the time too, tbh...

Pels and Mavs were not 3PM games.

See, this is why I can't be a media member while covering the Spurs. Every time he opens his mouth, I just want to punch him in the face.

Man, I am amazed at the record this team has with all the weaknesses it has. The NBA must truly suck this year outside of Goldenstate. I am amazed Goldenstate has 8 losses. That is even more mind-boggling.
When I look at the rodeo road trip schedule earlier in the season, I thought, wow, this could be a good one, but right now, it looks like these guys might shit the bed and have a poor record despite not playing against great teams.

We need Demarcus Cousins as a media member asking him the questions, and then Demarcus getting into his face if Pop starts playing his games. lol. That would be pretty funny to see.

Just setting up that built in excuse when the boring Spurs lose that 1pm playoff game, reserved for the two teams that nobody wants to watch.

It's no excuse, tbh, the Bucks used to own the fuck out of us too back in the day and then not even make the playoffs...
I'm not comparing, I'm just saying bad loses happen. It's clear we're going through a rough patch, tbh, but let's not pretend it's the first time... a lot of those old years we didn't ring either...

I think this recent trend of gaining a double digit lead and then playing absolutely lackadaisical basketball against scrubs IS something new. I don't remember such a streak against scrub teams ever happening before. Sure, an isolated game here and there. Every team drops an unexpected game. But this is a real trend.

The thing is, we had a 10 point lead with Kawhi getting red hot while building up that lead, then he doesn't get the ball much after that and the Knicks cut into our lead heading into the half. It was game over after that, because I knew the team was in trouble when he had to go out for his rest periods.

If you are a fan of the Spurs and you aren't grateful for that you need to go play in traffic in Naples, Italy.

I don't think there's any justification for Kawhi not taking all the shots now. He needs to be at James Harden level of ball hogging. Fuck the system, it's broken.

Pop has a way at times of making this whole NBA experience seem silly.
Why do I care if one group of mostly millionaires (all strangers to me) puts a ball in a little orange hoop more frequently over 48 minutes than another group of mostly millionaires (also all strangers to me). Boiled down, its silly, and why do I waste hours weekly on this site? I need to get a life. :lol
Pop buzzkill.

It's a good perspective but he can't use that as an excuse. It makes him sound like he doesn't care about his job. :lol

Poop gets paid millions of dollars to win basketball games, so no. Winning is life and death for him.

Good point. Maybe he doesn't care, and his antics - in-game and out - are designed to get himself fired. RC just doesn't have the huevos.
This isn't a surprising loss. The Knicks are one of the teams that seems to give the Spurs trouble. It's not dissimilar to our games @ Chicago as well. Up until recently it was games @Toronto and @Portland that we used to find ways to lose.

While this is true, Pop uses it as a lame excuse to avoid having to answer questions, which is actually part and what he's paid millions to do. If "it's just basketball" then answer the damn questions.

One thing is for certain, Patty Mills game has disappeared. It is time for Murray to get his minutes. Anyone but Pop can see this. It reminds me when Pop stayed with Matt Bonner over Tiago Splitter and the Spurs lost to the Grizzlies.

Well it's not a cure for cancer, but neither is art and music. It is people's lives and it does matter how you approach what you do in life-integrity, discipline, and passion. Spurs are a great example of what can be done if you play like a team.

Spurs are 2-3 in their last 5 @ New York, 1-4 in their last 5 @ New Orleans and always grind out games @ Toronto..there are cities where they struggle in(particularly the partyers on the team), regardless of team quality..
