I have good sources and a good feeling this will become common practice fellas. Immigration nigs will ask to see ur phone just for d hell of it and maybe make a copy of its contents. What would u do? Just hand it to them? Refuse? Or?
I travel all over the workd so this is important. Its also important that I NEVER EVER hand the govenment my phone. Fuck them
Im gonna probably buy a cheap "travel only" phone and format it every time before re entering US.
What phones are good choices for this and anyone got a better idea??

i have my phone rigged with explosives.
I'm pretty sure you would need some kind of warrant to actually go through it or copy it or whatever you're implying.
Travel with your dummy phones from now on would be my simpler answer. Fill it with gay porn for good measure so they get a nice long look. :lol

Nope this is actually happening already. And to US citizens:

A US-born NASA scientist was detained at the border until he unlocked his phone

He could probably suit them and win. Given that the phone was NASA's property and could have contained stuff not meant for outside consumption.

Take out the sim card and replace it with a generic one.
Swallow your actual sim card and shit it out at your destination.
You're probably used to that type of process since you run mules.

Good idea about d generic one. Thanks
No need to stuff shit up your ass unless your life depends on it imo. Easy to hide a sim card in a piece of bubble gum.

Heres the procedure guys:
1) before entering US, hide sim in piece of gum or bottom of shoe
2) replace sim with generic one
3) format phone

you cant vpn/vnc on a daily basis, what about calls n texts, contacts, etc. plus doesnt prevent them from installing malware on your device. Not practical imo

:lol you're trying to hide something and you keep your contacts on your phone? If they sequester your phone, you might aswell burn it. That's why you keep everything safe somewhere else.
Plus, you can do VOIP (ie: Vonage) and Whatsapp through VPN, or better yet, use Signal.

Do you realize you would be sitting with a SIM card frozen inside bubble gum next to a fir tree in Siberia if you lived in Mother Russia? Your ass would be so hard wired to a prison in the right country Mr. World traveler.
