Good advice, tbh..would have loved to have seen CP3 in a Spurs jersey for the past 10 years(no disrespect to TP, a top 10 PG of all-time)..

I'm still trying to figure out how Parker is a top 10 all time pg. Even though we are spurs fans, we dont need to be like Laker fans with that "kobe top 5 all time" bullshit.

Are you saying TP is the top 10 PG or did you say it was CP3?

Chris Paul is a much better example than Russ, a player who Dejounte is also watching, so ask yourself who is better mentor Russ or CP3?

Regarding Pop and Phil,

1) Pop took a shot at Phil in 2002 saying that he allows someone (Kobe) to take "as many as eight shots in a row" and yet this season Kawhi has a higher USAGE% than Kobe had (check it via basketball-reference.com) it's a slight lead but put that in perspective :)

2) Pop is clearly the better fucking coach, I mean look at their legacy Phil has titles but no disciples in this league. Yes he won more but he always had more. He had arguably the best player of all time, yet we had to go against a guy who is one championship away from possibly surpassing Jordan! Oh and Kobe and Shaq in their respective primes and healthy. Pop is the one who did more with less, that's for sure. And the guy is a superstar among coaches over in Europe and the NBA and has so many disciples.

The vast majority of coaches out there would rather be Pop not Phil Jackson. I think that's a statistic you can accurately measure and decides the argument as to who was the better and most successful coach.

of course CP would be a mentor because Russ is just an idiot ... but Murray has the tools to play more in a Russ way than duplicate CP

CP3 on the floor with Duncan would have been a frightening thing. People here make jokes because the Spurs (almost) always found a way to beat his teams, and he doesn't have a ring. But he never had Tim Duncan, either.

Paul worked with a trainer in the off-seasons who made him a lot more explosive, and a much better player overall. I think Murray would benefit more than most from working with him, or someone like him. If the Spurs don't send him, Murray should spend some of his rookie money and go on his own.

I found an article about the guy, and about Paul working with him:

Nice post.

I wonder how much credit Kerr is going to get is these Warriors win multiple titles.

Interesting article.
Would like to see specifics about what he does, also a larger sample size then Chrissy Paul, Pelican and Pattycake. (not from you thanks for the article I mean I'd like to see more info on it. Not sure if one can get specifics from him without paying his fee.) Pattycake does look pretty healthy this year.

Chris Paul on this team the last few years would've been a dream. We'd have been favorites every year.

Murray is 6'6". I peg him more as a Shaun Livingston than a Chris Paul. JMO.

As much as Paul is the prototype to follow - court awareness, game control etc, he has vision and other things which you just can't teach. Hopefully he can learn some things from his game, but obviously with his physical tools and different instincts, he'll never be the same type of player.

Honestly I think he can learn alot from Parker, both being speedy.
