They didn't dominate them in this game. But when looking at the whole season and their recent history, the Spurs have definitely dominated them. You can play a whole bunch of close games, but if one team constantly wins those games, they're still dominating. It's like the 2013 WCF, where the Spurs dominated despite Memphis getting the final two games to OT.


Meh. Semantics. I'm not getting into that kind of argument. I know what you're saying. But you always expect a little easier win against a .387 team. The Pels are just about as consistent at challenging the Spurs as the Spurs are about winning games against them. I guess if I had to pick one or the other, I'll take the wins. But tonight the Spurs felt more lucky than dominant to me.

Heh. Well everyone named Kawhi shot it pretty badly in the second half, too. He went 5-18 and 4-6 from the FT line in the second half. I don't know what happened to him.

Oh, man, and that really dumb 3-pointer he chucked late in the 4th. That just didn't even look like Kawhi out there on the offensive end. He made some nice defensive plays, though.

Yeah, my comment didn't break it down by halves. But statistically Kawhi still had a decent game, I believe. True, he made a couple of bad shot choices late, but his two steals and two assists on Patty's threes were excellent plays when it really, really counted. He is still learning to be The Man, tbh. To state the obvious: without him tonight the Spurs lose - quite probably in a blow-out.

From the few minutes I saw, Mills was pretty damn quick on defense.
Of course he was. He dropped some major weight through the game w/ all the bricking.

Still here tbh. Glad the Spurs got the win, but there are very serious flaws on display that have been apparent since the start of the season (and even beyond). Still pissed the Spurs didn't pick up a guard at the deadline, but I never expected them to make a move regardless. The drop-off in FT shooting since the start of the year is also alarming; not sure what can fix that. Only brightside is seeing the defense recover towards the end of the fourth/OT to get the W. Despite my earlier bitching the D definitely looks better the past 10 games or so.
