Since nobody has started one yet. This was a damn good movie. Took the wife with me and he kiddo and even she said that it was a really good movie. This coming from a woman who doesn't like these genre of movies. Highly recommend this flick.

4/5
best of the trilogy and probably the best of the 10 X-men movies.
R Rated Comic Book movies can feel gimmicky but Deadpool and Logan made it work. Action scenes are great.

Assuming you meant The Dark Knight. It is better, then again the Dark Knight Rises is better than The Dark Knight.

It is 100% not a kids movie though for any parents thinking of taking their kids. I mean, if you are cool with them seeing rated R that's fine, just saying don't go in expecting it to be a typical X-Men ok for kids thing.

It's definitely more Dark Knight than anything else that's been put out from marvel comics (whether it be marvel studios or fox)... But I'm not going to put it that high because there's no crazy sinister character on jokers level.
It's at least as good as anything else from x-men. If dark Knight was a 5/5, I'll give this a 4.5

Not really. As long as you have a basic idea of the X-Men story, and who Wolverine and Professor X are, then you're good.

Watching Hugh Jackman uninhibited like this made me realize how much I was missing with all the other X-Men movies. Props to Jackman and James Mangold for having an artistic vision and not churning out cookie cutter product like Marvel Studios tends to do.

I've been catching up on X-men movies the last couple of weeks, and Logan is by far the easiest movie to follow without having any familiarity with the characters. And I also, for once, never really found myself asking, "Why didn't they just ______ using _____'s powers instead of _________ so they could avoid that whole _________ mess?"

It would have been cool if they had Logan with bone claws instead of the adamantium. Then again he wouldn't have been able to keep up with the other X's. i thought the clone was extremely stupid and the worst part of the movie IMO.

Wolverine vol 2, issue 75. After Magneto ripped out Wolverines adamantium skeleton it was revealed that Wolverine had claws made of bone, meaning he was born with them. He even says at the end of the comic that he must have been born with them, but he can't remember having them.

http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Wolverine_Vol_2_75i dont see where that says he was born with it. it says he had the claws before they were grafted with adamantium. that doesn't mean he was born with retractible claws.
same with the fact that he had his healing factor before the adamantium procedure... but he wasn't "born" with a healing factor. it also first came to be during adolescence

The way folks were talking about it I was expecting the Godfather of hero movies. It was OK but is not THAT good. It doesn't even come close to the Dark Knight.
Some dialogues were just too cliche and cringe worthy: "I didn't sign up for this!!". How many times do we have to hear that shit in movies, tbh? :lol (btw, they fucked that entire scene up. It had the potential to be the scene of the movie if it wasn't for that lame, "in your face" writing. With more subtlety it could have been a prefectly moving, eye tearing moment).
Also, too many plot holes, the most egregious one being the one where at a first moment the mutant kids are running, like scared little chickens, for their lives like normal kids would do, and just a couple minutes after that they are kicking the asses of the folks, they were running from, without much sweat.

Because they negate the concept of not getting shot. Might as well have Superman and Hulk shooting at each other.

I don't want to turn the thread into a John Wick discussion, but the sequel was disappointing considering the praise it was getting. Of course, it's enjoyable for what it is, but if I really wanted to watch a great action movie sequel, I would turn on The Raid 2. That movie makes John Wick look like a children's movie.
:lol half of humanity are assassins in the John Wick Universe
:lol bullet proof suits that absorb all the force inflicted by a gunshot. I give the movie props for acknowledging that John Wick would probably be shot dozens of times throughout the story. I'll even accept the ridiculous concept of a bulletproof suit. But gunshots would absolutely destroy Wick's internal organs. That's like holding up a pillow to your chest, and letting a boxer punch you; sure, the boxer technically never touches you, but you will still be in pain and might have broken bones.
But then again, I am saying that I prefer a movie that has a guy with a metal-coated skeleton and supernatural healing powers. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

It wasn't innocuous to me 'cause it ruined what, imho, had the potential to be the scene of the entire movie.
If they would have worked that scene in a more subtle way with, for example, the little girl showing that she wanted wolverine to stay with her but in a more indirect, subtle way (ex: a silent dissapointed face instead of a screaming exposition), the scene, and as a result the movie, would have been 10 times better.

LOL
She's a kid. An inpulsive kid that flies off the handle rather easily. That was portrayed throughout the whole movie. You cant expect her character to change just for one scene and contradict how she had acted all the way to that point.
Neither her nor Wolverine himself are subtle in their actions.
I thought it played exactly how they would react to things.

Considering how Laura indirectly caused the deaths of Logan's only friends, I think his reaction was justified.
