I may be alone on this, but I enjoyed this game more than the win over the Rockets.
I did too but mainly because there was no pressure. If the team lost we could just point to the top two guys being out. If they lost against HOU all the 'fool's gold team' thoughts wouldve started creeping in.

He won't retire and leave $14MM on the table. PATFO will have to package him with a pick and trade him a la Diaw. With Pop's consistently benching him in crunch time, that seems more conceivable than it once did.
$14M will pay like 10 years worth of Asvel salaries. He owes it to his team to stay.

I think Spurs have needed offense lately and he's limited to lobs etc... Specially in a game like this. I hope the dude recaptures his groove back but I liked what I saw from Bertans and Kyle both frankly
(and Lee ... but Lee is assured to play anyways and not get the Dedmon minutes)

Sorry about the name calling.
But no way he is getting the time he did in 2014.
No way.
The league knows him. He can hit the 3. He can play D. But when we don't move the ball like 2014 it hurts him a great deal on offense. That's my opinion. It hurts his 3 and the more ISO type ball with less movement forces him into more uncomfortable dribbling which he has never mastered.

Eventually Dijon... right now I wouldn't bench Tony, it's late in the season and Dijon hasn't been allowed to play through his issues the way a guy like Simmons has. When Tony plays well it's a different team, but he's injured so often and declined so much that Spurs inevitably have to start getting ready to pass the torch

Glad he showed up against one of the worst rosters in the NBA. If it was Parker, he'd be criticized for showing up when it counted the least but, since it's Ginobili, we have the to celebrate it. Good for him and I hope he can build upon this performance and build some momentum heading into the playoffs. Who knows, maybe he'll be that forgotten 10th man on the roster the Spurs forgot they had. :lol

It's a 48 minute game. If the Spurs aren't going to play good for a full 48, I'd much rather them start slow and finish strong.
Tony has had his problems, but I'm really a little freaked out by how Dedmon has started to look as a starter. I hope he's just adjusting. His improved play was a big plus for the Spurs' chances in post-season.

Think they want to lose to keep their draft pick. Don't feel sorry for the franchise, but fine to feel bad for the players.

One of reasons some pointed to for trading Cousins was to tank enough to keep their first rounder this year. If inside of 10 they keep it and they give up two seconds instead. 11 or worse and it goes to Chicago.
BKL, PHX and LAL are almost certainly ahead of them but there are 11 teams with 4 wins or less more than Sacramento. Unlikely they fall out of top 10 but don't want to risk it. Imagine if you're 10th and get jumped in the lottery (low odds).

Oh absolutely I prefer wins, I just don't like digging in a hole because we may not always be able to dig ourselves out. It's great to know our team has the ability and grit to pull these out for sure, but at what point do you want them to not rely on it or keep putting themselves in the situation and play to their ability from the start. Guess it's kind of a weird question, but what I was asking was is it more concerning that we are starting slow, or are you happier that if we are in a hole, that we can dig out.
I am more concerned about the extremely slow starts. You can't continually win uphill battles.

There is a multitude of problems (TP included) but Danny shooting better and LMA becoming an offensive player again pretty much solves everything. Dedmon/TP are gravy IMO (but ya, I mentioned the other day that if the offense continues to do this with starters that Pau starting may be the move).

With Kawhi back in the lineup it doesn't look like he would have played tomorrow anyways but with Manu playing in this first part of the B2B the minutes he played, I do wonder if Manu rests tomorrow in which case we might see Dijon. Should be interesting to see... maybe Manu does play against OKC and it doesn't matter anyways

Not sure if it answers your second question, but Tony and Dedmon are scheduled to shoot a Dyson commercial tomorrow.
Manu was definitely good. 10 AST is a good game for any 39 year old. :lol
The first question? Hell, I can't figure out whether to be happy or worried about this team. I can't remember ever seeing anything like this. But given the way the rest of the front-runners in the league seem to be crumbling, I'd say it's pretty good that they just keep winning.
Wasn't it Patty with the 10 assists? A surprising stat nonetheless for a player who supposedly can't distribute.
