Again, though, fuck guys like Wilbon. Larry Bird and his generation can hardly walk nowadays. You think this macho bullshit about playing so much in the old days has anything to do with that? NFL players used to say this shit too, but they stopped after too many of them started shooting each other in the chest.
If the Warriors won, would the post game narrative be the same?
Oh my gosh no! I commented earlier today - if the Spurs lost this game, the meltdown would have been epic. People would be recounting every "unnecessary" loss of the entire season. Petitions would be out to get Pop fired. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria!

Thank you Steve Kerr for giving us the tiebreaker. Had he played with all the available players we would have lost.
And we would've had another shot to win it in a couple weeks. They weren't gonna beat us at home 2x

I'm guessing that Kawhi will be back, and LMA won't. Wasn't it heart arrhythmia that ended Fabbs career? Not saying that LMA is done, just that they won't take any chances with it.
I don't remember LMA's history of heart arrhythmia being mentioned when the Spurs were courting him in free agency. Seems odd.
Nice game by Kyle.
I think it's official. Our bench could absolutely dominate the D-League.

I don't remember it either, TBH. But if you remember that summer, everyone was so ecstatic that we probably didn't notice. That looked like the best offseason in history.

I'm sure if this were the playoffs, then most of those guys would be playing. But it's a regular season game, and one Kerr can win even sitting his best players because of all the players out for the Spurs. And Green only played because of his streak that he went through comical efforts to extend, including a start and playing for a few minutes and then sitting. Of course, if it was a tooth or two, guys like Kawhi would play. But a concussion is serious. Better to rest and not take chances.
according to what is defined as a concussion by today's standards, I've had literally hundreds of them in my life since I boxed amateur in my teens and 20s. I always thought a concussion was when someone was knocked unconscious, but today that's not the case. If Leonard got a concussion from that little shit that happened the other night, then I was borderline facing death with some of the punches I've taken in my life :lol

Wasn't even trying, and he had a great game. Would have liked to see him go into summer league mode.
He had a really nice beneath-the-radar game. It was very encouraging. With the other guys on the floor, it is a slight concern that he wasn't a little more assertive even if he didn't go full SL mode.

Anyone else not like Pau's body language tonight? Yea. I am trying to remain happy about this win and young guys playing well.. but boy, he is still in the bench with the Lamarcus injury and he TO the ball 5 times. I think the lack of chemistry with teammates can bother him. We should remember up until a few weeks ago he was starting and built chemistry with some dudes and now, not only is he in the bench, but whenever Pop decides to bump guys in the rotation or someone from further down the rotation is bumped to the bench they don't know how he plays and what he likes. I am trying to not read too much into it personally.

I think Kerr made the right decision. Warriors have been on the road awhile and playing like garbage. Dropping this one while you're trying to win might have hurt them mentally. Give up the improbable tie breaker.

Well he said he wouldn't sacrifice their bodies for the 1 seed. LMA would be out but Kawhi would be back. Idk. Without Durant, they have been terrible. I like our chances very much in that scenario, even without LMA

My point was that people were so excited to have another AllStar coming to the roster that they probably wouldn't have noticed some story about a once-upon-a-time heart thingy. If the story was out there, it got drowned in all the excitement. That much is just fact, regardless of how you felt about LMA that summer.

If Pau wants to earn the right to bitch, maybe he should get down in the paint where all the big boys play. Big bastard shot 37% from the field, 4 of 6 from the FT line, and had 5 TO's. (I guess without that play he would have only had four TO's?) If anything, the rest of the team out to be chewing his ass out.
On a positive note, Pau didn't have any fouls tonight. But that happens when you avoid contact all night.

Pau is an old dude and he can't bring the intensity every night. Manu is also old, but has an entirely different mindset.
I think though, both take it easy when they know that its going to be a easy win. It is just so much more obvious with Pau.

LMAO. Just to be clear - we still had Tim Duncan who had played GREAT the year before. We got LaMarcus Aldridge. West gave up $10M or whatever to come here, and we thought he would be better. I had been calling for the Spurs to sign Boban, and they did. And you're claiming that I was calling for the Spurs to Tank? That's just too stupid for words.
You go back and find ANY post I made about re-building last year, and then you post it. Until then, you're just a lightweight whiny bitch that has to make shit up when you get your panties in a bind. I knew about it from his Portland days. I knew good and well that he had a heart issue and the Spurs would have too. I didn't have a problem with signing him because of it. For him to have been playing at a high level after coming back from it, I thought that showed toughness and heart (no pun intended), so I didn't have any problem with it whatsoever.

I'm not whining or calling names, friend. And I'm not sure why you are. The initial issue was whether the clamor over LMA's successful recruitment by the Spurs would have drowned out news of any "heart thingy." You are right, it would have.
The next issue was whether there were any ST posters who, nonetheless, were not totally behind the LMA signing. Some posters thought that was delaying a rebuild, and sooner would be better. I was one, and I know ceperez was one. I thought you were also less than enamored with the signing. If I was mistaken, I was honestly mistaken. Have a snickers.
I'm not whining or calling names, friend. And I'm not sure why you are.
I'll tell you the same thing I told the other fucktard (assuming you aren't the same person). It's a simple formula - don't make shit up and claim I said it.
It's really not that hard to understand.
