View Full Version : Watching the Wolves Warriors game

Man the Wolves are taking it to the Warriors, and it looks like everyone is playing. I wonder how hard the Dubs go after this one. Kerr might have bigger problems than worrying about the Spurs game tomorrow. His team hasn't looked right since KD went down. If they go all out tonight and lose then well what am I saying what chance do the Spurs have tomorrow without the KingSlayer and MVParker? Kerr might need to start resting players very soon even more than Pop.

It's simple, they've looked like crap since KD went out. They have had a pretty rough schedule too lately, but they overall just haven't looked good lately.

I have 0 fear of them without KD. Curry and Klay have been in a serious funk too. If Curry is missing 3s, what else is he good for?

Klay and Curry could turn it back on at any moment, but right now (and for the season), they are definitely not playing like they were during 73.

They also don't have the supporting cast around them. They gave up a lot of tools to become KD-reliant, and without him, it's pretty much on Steph, Thompson, and Green to play well to win.

Still early in this one, though. We saw the other night how quickly a deficit can turn around, so I'll reserve judgement until the 4th.

The narrative that they lost depth is kind of true, but overplayed, tbh..it's been repeated everywhere, but their supporting cast production isn't any different than last season..Bogut was a slight upgrade over Pachulia/McGee, but everything else is the same..Leandro Barbosa isn't the difference:lol

The only major difference and the reason they're struggling is that Curry(and Thompson, until tonight) looks horrible, that's all there is so it..if you put this version of Curry on last year's Warriors, they win around 50 games..

Curry is shooting 20% on wide open 3s the past 10 games..just a mind-boggling slump..

I don't want to jinx anything...but the averages have to regress to the means eventually. Steph has had an amazing run the past couple seasons and rightfully deserves the praise for the things he was able to do...but there is a reason no player has come out and been able to play like that year-after-year before. He's still a jump shooter, and once that magic tough leaves him, he will still be a very good player...but not the goddamn Konami-Code motherfucker he has been since 2015.

Definitely agree..I think he can replicate 2015, but last year was the best season a PG has ever had, he was never going to sustain that level of play..

He's nowhere near as bad as he has been the past 10 games, though, of course..hopefully tomorrow isn't the game where he breaks out..

It's kind of true, as I said in my edited post prior to your reply..if you compare all those players to their individual counterparts, the production isn't much different, slightly worse, more injuries..

The biggest difference in their bench success is that Livingston has fallen off a cliff, for some reason..

Let's not overthink why the Warriors have been slumping as of late. They're tired.

The Warriors are in the midst of playing eight games in eight cities in three time zones over the course of 13 days.

Kerr pays close attention to what the computerized tracking data says about player workload, and he told ESPN before Wednesday's 99-86 loss to the Boston Celtics (http://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/bos/boston-celtics) that a couple of guys are "fried" right now (he didn't say which guys).

Health and form is more important than seeding..also, why should the Warriors be scared of the Spurs having HCA, anyways? Spurs had HCA in the 2nd round and blew it, just last season:lol

Whether he comes back healthy in the playoffs or not, the Warriors are sending the script to every defensive coach right now. Try to neutralize Durant, cover the 3-point line, and you stand a fighting chance,

If the Warriors limp into the playoffs and square off against Clippers or Thunder, they could be in big trouble. Again, this is a big IF, and this is if Curry and Thompson continue their slumps into the playoffs with an unhealthy KD.

It's still gonna be Pop vs Kerr so don't put any money on it.

National late night radio roasting the Dubs calling them mentally fragile. Afraid of the team's mindset if they go for the #1 seed and don't get it. We didn't want that number one seed anyway let the Spurs have it. LMAO. Epitome of a frontrunner., arrogant as F when everything going their way but the wheels come off when they face adversity.

The Warriors without Durant aren't the same as the last couple years' Warriors without Durant. Not having any solid bigs and Harrison Barnes was a better defender and glue guy than people gave him credit for.
Don't get me wrong, I agree they've regressed from last year. But with Curry and Thompson on your team, their shooting could get you far if they find their rhythm.

I don't think Pop cares about the #1 seed as much as we do, either..at least it doesn't appear that he does, based on his rotations..
We've been thru this before, as recently as 2015 when #2 seed was up for grabs and Cutesy Pop Lineups dropped us to 6th.

He could get away with his chit when he had Prime Duncan GNob Bowen Horry and serviceable Parker. It's beyond old now.

I disagree..they're clearly gassed, they aren't going to be winning anything if their top guys keep playing like this, anyways..

Health and form is more important than seeding..also, why should the Warriors be scared of the Spurs having HCA, anyways? Spurs had HCA in the 2nd round and blew it, just last season:lol

I don't think Pop cares about the #1 seed as much as we do, either..at least it doesn't appear that he does, based on his rotations..

I was thinking that last night watching the game. It seems he was more interested in testing lineups against the thunder. Almost like he knows he's not getting the one seed and he wanted to see what would work against them.

Dex

That's ONLY if Thompson and Curry carry their slump into the playoffs.

Not saying that they are an easy out, by any means. The potential of Steph, Klay, and Donkeyface are enough to keep them as favorites, even if they are slumping right now.

But they are vulnerable, and not as unbeatable as many seem to have assumed...even with KD.

So tomorrow night will be the Santa Cruz warriors vs. the Austin Spurs.
In the 2014-15 season that would have been an interesting game both teams had some NBA taleng back then... right now I don't know... when Bryn is one of their best players... one wonders.

I know that wasn't the joke ... but Austin had a good team that season and Santa Cruz ended as the dleague champion...
I think both teams are mediocre this season... to bad.

If they wanted the Thunder Vs Warriors, why didn't they favor the Spurs more in yesterday's game? I don't think they give a shit about the Spurs getting the number 1 seed. If they did, calling the fouls and game better yesterday would have helped that a lot.

I can't believe Kawhi is out for tonight's game. How long is he likely to miss?

If the Warriors really are resting all those players, then the Spurs better win the game. Pop better not be a pussy and try and tank that number 1 seed. Get mentally focused and stay locked playing for the Championship.

Oh, and that rest shit from Pop is bullshit. Nothing good EVER comes from it. Fucking Kawhi gets hurt the next game anyway, and his insane rhythm that he develops is always broken. I only ever agreed with resting Tim and Manu. No-one else ever should have rested the past 6 years or so if they weren't injured.

Warriors are dumb to tank this game, tbh..With Durant return iffy, they could really be in trouble Memphis or OKC if keep playing like this..
They are gassed and not playing well. Even without Kawhi Spurs were going to be tough team to beat on the road. If they are missing shots bc they are gassed then have to get into a grind game against the Spurs which is a losing proposition bc that's the Spurs game. Spurs OTOH still have all their bigs, they would have Manu back, and role players play better at home plus they are coming off a loss. I would think Pop doesn't play Bryn or Anthony with all his bigs healthy, Manu back and hopefully Kyle too.

Good choice by Kerr. I really don't think he would have done it if he really didn't have guys on fumes.

I haven't seen the entire team second guess their wide open shots so much all season. That was a really weird game. They all shot like crap and Forbes, who is a 3 OT specialist(all he is at this point) passed up every open look he got. Patty, green, as well. Simmons missed a bunch of point blank layups, Patty missed a couple. Pau was playing absolutely horrendous to the point of rookie Murray yelling at him for his pack of defense. Dedmon continues to nose dive to reality and showing his mental weakness. He plays incredibly lazy(decision making) when he is being outplayed. Had a bunch of horrible passes.. had a handful of guys play their worse game, and then the thunder role players were making all their shots. I'll take us losing on a bad rhythm night. That won't last a series. As long as they don't do it consistently. If I see a crap game Saturday, I'll worry some.

Honestly, Joel Anthony showed he still can bang down low. He seemed to match up with the thunder much better than gasol(well obviously) or dedmon surprisingly.

It'll get better. And the league has definitely favored the spurs lately. Kawhi playing amazing gives them a reason to sell the spurs while their high. Kawhis Injury came at the worse time though. Just when he was making a case for mvp.
